As time changes it is inevitable that prices go up, here at RolandD we have been able to keep our price stable for the past 5 years. Unfortunately now the time has come for us as well that we must increase our prices to be able to continue with the development and support of our products. Since October 1st 2021, a root certificate of Let's Encrypt expired and is causing trouble for those who have not updated their systems in time. That the certificate was going to expire was known long before and Scott Helme dedicated a blog to the issue called Let's Encrypt's Root Certificate is expiring!. Now that October 1st has passed we are finding out that a lot of people are not keeping their systems up-to-date, as we see an increase in the support requests regarding this issue. The error message is the same for everybody The certificate issuer's certificate has expired. Check your system date and time. In the Joomla forum there are also users experiencing the same issue and a solution is provided in this forum thread. Applying that workaround should make your site run again.

RO Users 2.0.0 released

This release of RO Users has been long overdue and with the rebranding of the new website it has taken a step back but today we have a brand new release for you. We have added a couple of new features that makes live easier as an administrator.
Supported extension
The list of supported extensions now consists of:
- EasyDiscuss
- HikaShop

- RD-Subscriptions
- VirtueMart
If a user has a record in any of these extensions, that user will not be deleted.
Whitelisting usergroups
The whitelist has been extended to not only include any given email address but now you can whitelist one or more usergroups. Users in any of the whitelisted usergroups will not be deleted.
Cleaning usergroup mapping table
Joomla keeps track of which users belong to which usergroup and does this in the usergroup_map table. Over time this table can become corrupt, with users still in the table that no longer exist in the system. RO Users will clean out these invalid entries as well now.
Logging
The logging has been improved as well. You can now set if logging should be done to file or screen or both. The logfile that is being created has a date added to it, to prevent the file from becoming huge and in addition it will make it easier to find the correct logfile.

RO Payments 5.2.0
The final release of this decade, a small one but not less important. In this release we have cleaned up and fixed some issues.
Obsolete payment providers and services
Since the inception of RO Payments we have only been adding payment providers but times have changed and so have payment providers. Especially since the early days of when we only offered iDEAL, all the banks were involved in it, nowadays, this is no longer the case. ABN AMRO and Deutsche Bank no longer offer their own webshop solutions. The Rabobank has moved on from Omnikassa 1 to Online Kassa (Omnikassa 2) as they have improved their product. In this release we have removed all references to ABN AMRO, Deutsche Bank and Omnikassa 1.
VirtueMart payment restrictions
Recently we received some issues on the selection of payment methods in VirtueMart not working as expected, something we at first could not reproduce. Once we could reproduce it, this was fixed. So we thought than we received another report it was broken for someone else. The final solution was to completely remove the payment restrictions check and leave it to VirtueMart, so it works the same as core VirtueMart.
Revised installation manual
The installation manual we have been providing for years, has now been revised and translated to English as well. You can download the new installation manual from the Downloads.

Recently the Rabobank has been sending out an email regarding the use of Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol. This is raising questions among the users of RO Payments and we want to clarify what this means.

So we are continuing in improving RO Payments and this has resulted in a new release with a number of fixes and new features.
Messages view
The messages view has been revised and all columns are now sortable, so you can not only filter the messages but also sort them in your own desired order.
Plugin names
After the last release it became clear that our choosing for the plugin names was a bit unfortunate because it gave the wrong impression. For example the RSForms!Pro plugin was named as such because it is the RO Payments plugin for RSForms!Pro. However if you go to the updates in Joomla, you would only see RSForms!Pro update and not realize it is not the actual RSForms!Pro but the RO Payments plugin. So we have prefixed our plugin names now with RO Payments, so it is clear it is one of our plugins and not the extension itself.
Addon override path
For a long time it has been possible to create your own addons and these would be placed in the models folder of RO Payments. Downside of this is that on every update the addon has been removed by the Joomla installer and it has to be put back. Annoying, so we now also check the active admin template override folder /html/com_jdidealgateway/addons/ for any addon that may need to be used. This will prevent any update from deleting the addon.
PID number
This is a more technical bit of news. The URL that informs the system of any payment update now contains a pid number. This pid number is needed for those transactions that actually have no transaction ID as is the case for example with Sisow when you let the customer choose the bank on the Sisow site rather than on your own site. This pid number will be used as fallback in case there is no transaction ID to handle the payment result.

Some products have custom field A, B, and C, while another has only A and C. You would not want for custom field B to show up on the other product. Since all three fields are in your import file, RO CSVI would import even the empty custom field into the product that did not need it.
Now we added the option to the VirtueMart Product import to allow you to skip these empty fields if you wish to do so.

Import from a local database table
For some time we have supported the import from an external database, however importing from a local database was not an option unless you created an export template first and then run that after which you would need to run an import again. That is all quite cumbersome. RO CSVI has introduced the option to select a local table as import source:

RO Payments 5.0.0 available

RO Payments 5.0.0
This release has taken quite some time to see the light of day but today is the day that RO Payments 5 sees the light of day. Continuing on from JD iDEAL Gateway which has now been renamed to RO Payments. The majority of the improvements are under the hood. The code has been updated to meet the newest Joomla and PHP standards. This is the first step to prepare for Joomla 4.
Requirements
The biggest change in this release is that the requirements of RO Payments have been increased. RO Payments has now the following requirements:
- Joomla 3.9 or higher
- PHP 7.2 or higher
If you do not meet these requirements it is time to update your site and server. Most hosts nowadays offer PHP 7.2 so it shouldn't be a problem to update the PHP version.
Recurring payments
The most notable change in this release is the support of recurring payments from Mollie. You can now offer recurring payments from your website provided you are using Mollie as payment provider. We have written up the article Recurring Payments with RO Payments and Mollie explaining how the recurring payments work and how they need to be setup.
Going forward we are investigating how to further expand the possibilities of the recurring system.
RSForm!Pro
Some things never change, that is our on-going support for RSForm!Pro. This release has a minor fix to not show a price if the price is 0.
Updating
Updating to RO Payments can be done through the Joomla Updater but you will need to take the following steps:
- Go to My Subscriptions page
- Note the download ID for RO Payments
- Login to your website
- Go to JD iDEAL Gateway
- Click on Options in the top right corner
- Click on the Download Tab
- Enter the new Download ID
- Save & Close the changes
- Go to Extensions -> Manage Update
- Click on Clear Cache
- Click on Find Updates
- Select RO Payments
- Click on Update
- Joomla will now install the update
In case you cannot update, please download the packages directly from the download page.

Release RO CSVI 7.13.0
Since August 1st we have moved to our new location and CSV Improved has been renamed to RO CSVI. After updating you will find the extension as RO CSVI in your Extension list. That is the only thing that has changed, our development has not stopped and we worked hard on this new release. Today we release RO CSVI 7.13.0 with some great new features.
XLSX support
For quite some time we had a pending request to also support XLSX files. This means you no longer need to convert the files to XLS to be able to import the file. Using XLSX files works exactly the same way as any other file.

Joomla Menus Import
The Joomla Menus import has been extended with the menu_delete field which allows you to delete menu entries on import.
Joomla Content
Articles can now also be imported based on ID, this should make it easier to keep existing IDs.
VirtueMart
By now it is tradition, every release has changes in the VirtueMart support. This release is no different, as we added the option to delete related products in the VirtueMart Product Import. The Delete Related Products option allows you to delete existing related products from products.
On the VirtueMart Userinfo import it was possible to import users without a username, this has been fixed as now it is no longer possible to import accounts without a username.
The VirtueMart product import did not take the weight and volume default values from the VirtueMart configuration but was hardcoded to the metric system. This has now been changed to use the values set in the VirtueMart configuration.
Breakdesigns plugins
For a long time we have been supporting the Custom Fields For All and Stockable Custom Fields by Breakdesigns, this has now been extended with the Dependent Custom Fields For All. Having three plugins that depend on each other is troublesome, so we decided to move all code into the Custom Fields For All plugin. This means that when you install the Custom Fields For All plugin, the Stockable Custom Fields plugin from RO CSVI will be removed as it is now obsolete.

HikaShop Export plugin
We ship a plugin that can be used to export an order after the order has been created. This plugin has now been extended to allow for using the order ID as the filename. For more information see the Export order after an order is created tutorial for more information.

RO Single Sign On 1.1.0 released

A few years ago this started out as an idea of what might be cool to do with Joomla, instead of LDAP use SAML to allow users to login to the Joomla website within a corporate environment. The standard package used for this is SimpleSAMLphp but this requires a lot of configuration through server files. The aim was to create a user-friendly interface to do the majority of these tasks to make it simple to maintain.

CSV Improved 7.12.0
As 2019 is speeding by we have been working hard on this release and the new features it brings. There is a lot to look forward to as we added some productive features.
Templates
Using templates is now even easier than before. Templates can be backed up directly from the template listing page. No need to go through the maintenance options anymore.
To run a template can now also be done directly from the template edit page. This saves you the steps from first saving the template, go to the import or export page and start the process. Now just click the Run Template button and you can start.
If you want to write some notes about a template, you can do so in the new introduce notes field. This can be used to specify what that template is for.
In case you have a lot of templates, you can now group them by specifying a tag in the template. In the template list you can filter the templates based on this tag.
Creating a backup of one or more of your templates is now just a 1-click operation, select the template or templates you want to backup and click on Backup from the template list page.
Finally, CSVI remembers which tab you last used in a template, so you get back to where you left off.
VirtueMart
A number of issues have been fixed with the VirtueMart imports and exports but we also added a few new features. There is a category_delete field in the Product import that allows you to remove all assigned categories to a product. In the Order export we added support for the VirtueMart textfield plugin. This allows you to export the input from your customers.
Product prices can be set to 0 now by importing a price with a value of 0.
Custom tables
In addition to supporting Joomla extenions, CSVI also supports the export of any table in your database. With the graphical interface you can join all kinds of tables together to export the data you need. Now we have added the alias option to be able to re-use the same table or tables with the same name.
Joomla User Groups
On importing user groups we only looked at the name of the user group but not at the path of the user group. This means importing user groups as Students/Workgroup and Teachers/Workgroup would result in only 1 user group names Workgroup. We have fixed this so that user groups are now taken by their full path.
K2 Item import
The ordering of new articles is now automatically added, so that they are added at the end of the last ordering.
onBeforeImport trigger
There is a new plugin trigger named onBeforeImport, this will allow you to hook into the import process just before it starts and do some pre-processing if needed.

CSV Improved 7.11.0
We kick off 2019 with a new release which contains some notable fixes and additions. No major changes this time so it will be a smooth update.
HikaShop
The export of custom field values was not working but funny enough this issue has been around for quite some time and only recently got noticed. In this release we have fixed this and the values of custom fields will be exported again.
VirtueMart
The VirtueMart integration sees a few changes, first of all we added the group name field of custom fields to the export. So you can export the group name the custom field belongs to. Second, we added the custom fields to the billing- and shipping fields so you can use them in the order export.
SFTP support
The import using a file from an SFTP server did not delete the file after the import completed. This has been fixed.
Uppercase Each Word
The multi-replace rule has a new option to uppercase each single word.
J2Store
The quantity field was not exporting in the J2Store product export and this is fixed now.

CSV Improved 7.10.0
The end is coming near for 2018 and we want to leave this year with a parting gift. The final release of 2018 of CSV Improved with many new features. Joomla Menus
Now you can export all menus in one export, no longer is it needed to export them menu by menu. Simply select All Menu Types and you can export all menus in your site.
HikaShop
HikaShop is back on the list as we added the Order Advanced export to HikaShop. An important staple in the VirtueMart exports, this is now also available for HikaShop. Allowing you to customize the export as you like. This makes it easy to export orders in a customized XML format. Check it out.
Combine rule arithmetic operations
The combine rule now has the option to perform arithmetic operations on 2 or more fields. This allows you to perform all kind of calculations as you run your import or export.
Joomla Content
The power of image processing in VirtueMart is now also available in the Joomla Content import. You can import external images for your content and have it stored on your server on the fly during import.
We also added the option to import associated articles for multi-language sites.
Unique ID
The multi-replace rule has the option to add a unique ID value to a field during import or export, this way you can create a unique identifier for any item you are importing or exporting.
Export orders based on ID
A while ago we added the option to export orders based on last run time, as it turns out, this is not always 100% foolproof as orders may come in as your export is running. Now we added the option to export orders based on last ID. So let's say your last export had the order ID 4552 as last ID exported, the next export will run and start from 4553. Now you should never miss an order again.

CSV Improved 7.9.0
We seem to be getting more regular releases lately. Last month we released CSV Improved 7.8.0 with some great new features, this time around we have some pretty neat features again. Read on, to find out.
Joomla Custom Fields
In Joomla it is possible to group a set of custom fields, however it was not possible in CSV Improved to export fields per group. We have added this filter to allow you to export your custom fields per group.
Joomla Users
In addition to the usergroup options we added in the previous release, we have taken this a step further. You can now import and export nested usergroups. For example you have the following structure:
- Sales/Employees
- Production/Employees
It was impossible to import this structure as you could only specify Employees, this would make CSV Improved always load the first entry it finds. Now you can specify the path in full and have full control over the usergroup structure. This can be used in both the Joomla Users import and export and the Joomla Usergroups import and export.

J2Store
The regular price is now added to the J2Store Price export as well, so you can get a clear overview of the regular prices and special prices linked to your products.
Template wizard
We have extended the template wizard with the field mapper. You can now map your fields directly when creating a new template, provided the option is set to not use the file for configuration.
There are several options you have here:
- Go to Template fields to add them manually
- Type or paste the setup of your fields
- Upload a CSV file
- Drag and drop a CSV file
Once you have added your content, the fields will show up and you can map them.

CSV Improved 7.8.0 - a feature release
Less than a month ago we released CSV Improved 7.7.0 with some great new features. In the meantime we have added some other extra nice features we don't want to keep to ourselves so we decided to do another smaller release.
Joomla Tags
We apologize for those looking for Tags support in 7.7.0, we forgot to include the package in the distribution. Although nobody asked us about it ;) This time it is included and you will see it in the list of extensions when creating a new template.
Joomla Users
We have added 2 options to the Joomla Users import that will now allow you to:
- Append usergroups for existing users
- Remove usergroups for existing users

HikaShop
The HikaShop Order export now is able to also export the characteristics of the products that have been ordered. So you can see the details of each product that a customer has ordered.
J2Store
For J2Store we have added some extra fields to make life a little easier. These fields help when you have to deal with variants. The fields are:
- product_parent_alias
- product_parent_title
Using these fields you can see clearer to which parent a variant is linked.
- regular_price
The regular price allows you to update the Regular price field in addition to the quantity based prices.

CSV Improved 7.7.0 - a feature release
Summer is behind us and it is time to get to work, what a better way to do that with this new CSV Improved and some great new features.
The past few months we have been working hard on some great new additions including support for the most requested Joomla Tags import and export and J2Store Address import and export.
Joomla Tags
This release adds yet another Joomla component to the list of supported extensions. The Joomla Tags import and export allows you to import and export tags to be used throughout Joomla. We have documented on how to use these features in the Joomla Tags Tutorial. The tags can be imported with the Joomla Content and Joomla Categories using the tags field.
J2Store
This release contains some important additions to the J2Store support. We have added the option to import and export J2Store addresses, this allows you to manage your customer addresses as used in J2Store. How to manage the addresses is documented in the J2Store Address Tutorial.
We have also added more fields to the J2Store Product import so you can import more product details in a single import. We have added the following fields:
- introtext
- fulltext
- language
- featured
- hits
- access
- version
Processes list
We have found out that the Running Processes list wasn't very accurate so we have spend some time optimizing this list to be more reliable. The list should give a better representation of the current running imports and exports. You are advised to delete all entries in the processes list and start clean.
Rules
The rules is a much used feature and for good reason, it gives you an enormous amount of flexibility. It was very hard to see which rules are linked to a template and to which templates. That has been changed now. The rule listing now has the option to filter on rules assigned to templates or not.
We have further enhanced this feature that when you edit a rule, you can click the Linked Templates button and you will get a list of templates linked to the rule. You can click the link to open the list of template fields for the linked template. The Linked Templates button will only show up if there are any linked templates.
HikaShop
This release contains yet again new features for HikaShop. A request we received multilpe times is to be able to export the file details in the Product export and import. So we listened and added these fields to the HikaShop import and export. The following fields have been added:
- file_path
- file_name
- file_description
- file_ordering
WIth these fields it will make it easier to manage the products with their images.
There is now also the option to recreate product aliases on import. This can be useful for when you want to clean up your aliases in bulk.
If your HikaShop is using product variants it is not possible to set a variant as default but that is history now. CSV Improved now supports setting a product variant as default product. Not only that but CSV Improved can also create variants on the fly on import. We have documented this in the HikaShop Variants Tutorial.
For those using FastSeller with HikaShop, we support this now as well for HikaShop.
Notable changes
There are a few changes we do want to highlight as they can be quite useful:
- Joomla Content export now has date filters allowing you to export a selection of items based on date ranges
- Option to delete prices before import in VirtueMart Product and Price import
- Debug log entries can now be limited to what is recorded. Large imports can cause huge debug logs, we have now made it configurable and it defaults to only logging the first 20 products.
- CSV Improved now supports multi-language support for Custom Fields for All in stockable custom fields in VirtueMart Product import
- The skip rule plugin now has the option to skip empty records

CSV Improved 7.6.2 - a stability release
A couple of weeks ago CSV Improved 7.6.0 was released and in the meantime we have been busy fixing bugs that were noticed. This makes 7.6.2 a true stability release as there are no new features in this release.
Some interesting fact about many of these bugs is that they have been present in CSV Improved for quite some time and went unnoticed for so long. Thank you for reporting them and we will fix them as soon as we find them.

CSV Improved 7.6.0 - a small update
Only 3 weeks ago we release CSV Improved 7.5.0 and now there is already CSV Improved 7.6.0. While this could just be a bugfix release we did not want to postpone some of the new features we built for you. The new features in this release are small but absolutely worth mentioning.
Example templates
In the past few releases we have been adding more and more example templates to assist you to get started. One problem with the example templates was that it always installed all templates. So you either get a very large list of templates you never use and need to clean up or no example templates if you don't want to keep cleaning them. To help you out we now added the option that you can choose for which extension you want to install the example templates. Ensuring that you only get the example templates you want.
By default the debugging option is turned off because once you decide to take your template live you don't want it to fill up your hosting with all the debug logs. However when testing it can be useful to have the debug option enabled. So we now offer the option to enable debugging on the example templates before installing them. Just a minor change to make life easier.
Joomla! Content Export
The last feature we added is for the Joomla! Content Export to include all subcategories during export. So you no longer have to select all the categories for export, you can just select the parent and enable the option to also export the child categories and you are good to go.
Database issues
We touched upon this topic last time and we have made further improvements to this to ensure older CSV Improved installations can be updated as well.

CSV Improved Pro 7.5.0 released

Moving on with CSV Improved 7.5.0
This is another feature release with some great additions to make CSV Improved more versatile. We have been expanding the J2Store support as the new kid on the block. In addition we have added a number of filters to the system.
J2Store
As mentioned before, J2Store is relatively new in CSV Improved and we have been working on improving supporting this extension. This release brings a product filter import and export that allows you to import and export product filters. The filters allow you to have more flexible products. We have also added an import and export for the geo zones option in J2Store. The geo zones allow you to manage all the geographical zones used in your shop.
The J2Store Order item export has an order state filter, allowing to only export order items for orders with a selected state.
VirtueMart
J2Store is not the only shop we have been working on. VirtueMart, our old-timer, is still being expanded as well. This time we added the option to unpublish categories before doing a VirtueMart Category import.
Custom Fields for All
This little gem is being used by quite a few people to add flexibility to their VirtueMart products. A few releases ago, it started to support multi-lingual websites, however it was not possible to import or export them with CSV Improved. This is now changed, we added full multi-language support for the Custom Fields for All plugin.
Price removal
In the maintenance section we have the option to remove prices for VirtueMart, Hikashop and J2Store. This has been enhanced with a manufacturer filter. You can now also delete prices that are linked to a selected manufacturer.
Database issues
The last few releases we have noticed an increase in issues that are related to database changes. Finally resulting in a list of errors shown on the About page since the Joomla 3.8.6 release while nothing had changed. This turned out to be a change in Joomla and was not related to any real database issues. This needs to change, so we wrote our own database sanity checker. Every time CSV Improved is installed, the database structure is checked and where needed fixed. In the case you do need to fix the database afterwards, we still have the Fix Database button on the About page. Let the database issues be gone and forgotten :)

Kicking off with a new release
With the festive season behind us I want to start wishing everybody a joyful, exciting and amazing 2018. That this may be a year full of awesomeness. We are starting it with a new feature release, CSV Improved Pro 7.4.0. This release has been in the making for the past 3 months, so you can expect a lot of new goodies.
Joomla Modules
The Joomla Modules is one of the few parts of Joomla not yet supported by CSV Improved until now. This release brings you import and export features of Joomla Modules. This is a tricky one because each and every module has it's own settings so we cannot support all individual settings but we do support the basic ones. The other settings can still be imported and exported but this will be a field with lots of data in it. So you may have to sift through it if you are looking for a specific setting to change.
However for exporting and importing across multiple sites this makes life a lot easier as you can export and import the modules as-is. Assuming you have the module installed in the target system of course. This also allows you to roll out a module with settings across multiple sites if you need to.

Custom Table import and export
The Custom Table import and export is undergoing major surgery and it keeps getting better and better. We have improved the performance and stability of the import mechanism and added some new features as well. The features we added this time are:
- Option to empty the table before starting the import
This allows you to import data into a clean table - Option to delete records on import using the record_delete field
SFTP
As the web is looking to become more and more secure we at CSV Improved would like to chip-in as well. This release adds the option to import from and export to SFTP servers instead of FTP. SFTP is the SSH File Transfer Protocol and should not be confused with FTPS which is something completely different. In case you are interested in the differences you can read the article Difference Between FTPS and SFTP. To use the SFTP option, you choose the FTP option and then enable the SFTP setting. Make sure you fill in all the correct details of course.
Remote images
Hosting images on another server is nothing new but what is new is that there is some movement going on in this area. HikaShop now allows you to use remote images so we also support that from this release onwards. In the K2 Item import we now added the option to download remote images and use them in K2. Finally, all the remote images downloads can be used with a username and password. This allows you to download remote images that are behind a login, making it even easier to manage your images directly.
Imagenames with spaces in them will now be replaced with underscores to make the files less prone to issues.

CSVI Pro 7.3.0 released

New feature release CSVI Pro 7.3.0
All summer we have been working on this new incredible version of CSV Improved. Not only fixing bugs but also adding some great new features which we think you will enjoy. The biggest of them all is the support for yet another extension. We are now also supporting the import and export of J2Store data. Allowing you to choose yet another shopping cart system and keep on using CSV Improved.
J2Store
To keep supporting our customers we have added support for J2Store as this shopping cart is getting bigger and bigger by the day. Allowing users to create products from Joomla articles is a great way to maintain a store with an interface users are already used to. At this moment we have included the following imports and exports:
- Products
- Product files
- Product images
- Prices
- Orders
- Order items
As you can see quite a long list of things you can already import and export with J2Store. In combination with the Joomla Article import you can manage all your products with ease. We have documentation available as to how to run the imports and exports as well. Have a look for that at the J2Store tutorials documentation section. Please give it a try and let us know what you think. We are looking forward to your input and see how we can improve here.
VirtueMart
There has been some changes to the VirtueMart integration as well. Most notably is that we removed the SnelStart export routine. The reason we removed the SnelStart routine is that it was pretty much doing the same thing as the Order export except it had a few more fields. So we moved support for these fields to the Order export routine to allow you to still export these fields. To continue using your template, you can just change the type from SnelStart to Order and the template will continue to function as before.
The VirtueMart Custom Fields import now allows you to also import custom fields that are grouped. This is useful when you have a number of custom fields that belong together.
Custom fields for products are used quite a lot we noticed and users would like to see this information as well when they run the Order export. That is now possible. The VirtueMart order export supports the custom fields that are assigned to products. All you need to do is make sure that the list of available fields is updated. One thing to be aware of, the values are taking from the product settings, they do not come out of the order table so any change you make to the custom field after someone ordered it, this will export the changed value and not the one it was at the time of ordering. That is because this information is not stored by VirtueMart.
Custom Table import and export
In the previous release we improved the export of the Custom Table export by allowing you to link any tables as you like. This time we looked at the import, here we added the option to use a compound key as unique identifier. In case the table uses multiple fields to identify a record, enter multiple keys separated by a comma. Setting this, you can update fields that are identified by more than just a primary key.
SEF URLs
Product exports usually require the product URL to be send to a comparison site like Google Shopping. Instead of having a long and not so friendly looking URL we use a SEF URL. CSV Improved supports SEF URLs but it didn't play nice on a multi-lingual site. This has now been fixed and SEF URLs are indexed based on language. Now you will always get the correct SEF URLs. Make sure to update the SEF URLs from the Maintenance section so your URLs are language aware.
Date formats
Until now the date format applied to all exported fields was set in the template. This meant you cannot get a different format for different fields. Now you can customize this by setting the date format field per field you export. Of course this will only be applied to fields that has a timestamp in them.

CSVI Pro 7.2.4 released

New stability release CSVI Pro 7.2.4
On Tuesday September 19th Joomla! released the Joomla! CMS 3.8 version and this has caused a break in CSV Improved as files have been moved around. This release only contains a fix to deal with sites that have been upgraded to Joomla 3.8.
Manual fix
For those who cannot update to CSVI Pro 7.2.4. a manual fix can be applied by following these steps:
- Open the file administrator/components/com_csvi/rantai/import/engine.php
- Go to line 162 where you will see:
require_once JPATH_LIBRARIES . '/cms/version/version.php'; - Change this line with this code:
require_once JPATH_LIBRARIES . '/src/Version.php'; - Save the file and the issue should be resolved.

New feature release CSVI Pro 7.2.0
Even before Joomla! 3.7.0 came out we were receiving requests if the new Custom Fields are supported in CSV Improved. At the time it wasn't because Joomla 3.7.0 was not even stable yet. Now that we have had a few new Joomla releases it is time for CSV Improved to come with a release as well. We proudly present the support of Custom Fields in CSVI Pro 7.2.0. So you can now import and export your custom fields for Articles, Users, and Contacts.
That is not the only new feature we have in CSVI Pro 7.2.0. We further improved the support for Form2Content import as we now also support the database lookup fields and after importing new Form2Content articles, they are immediately parsed as Joomla articles, so the article is immediately updated for your site visitors. VirtueMart recently came out with a new release as well which contains some new fields which are also supported now. These fields are payment_currency in the VirtueMart Order export and virtuemart_rating_vote_id in the VirtueMart Rating import. The categories in VirtueMart have been given a set of parameters by the developers, so we make those available as well for import and export.
Joomla! IDs
When you use CSV Improved to move over or synchronize data for your Joomla! data the IDs would always change as CSV Improved created a completely new item which then received a new ID. This is troublesome when you have links in your articles that link to other articles or menu items which link to articles or categories. So we recognized this problem and did something about it. Now it is possible to keep your existing IDs when you import:
- Joomla! articles
- Joomla! categories
- Joomla! menus
Conditional rule
For some time the request has been to update field values based on conditions. Now it is possible to do this using the value comparison rule plugin or by writing your own rule plugin so it matches your exact needs, however writing a plugin is not something everybody can do. So we decided to build our own rule and include it for you. The value comparison rule would only allow for 1 rule at a time, the conditional rule you can not only add multiple conditions but also get values from other imported fields.
As you can see with this conditional rule you can set all kinds of rules of how a field should be filled. The value comparison rule plugin is no longer being shipped with CSVI Pro but you can still continue to use the one installed on your site.
Custom table export on steroids
A long standing request but finally it has arrived, the ability to construct your own queries in CSV Improved. This is an example of exporting VirtueMart order data. You are in complete control of which tables are exported and how they are linked.
Support for Styleware Maps is back
In the past CSV Improved supprted Styleware Maps but somehow it was left behind. No longer and you can import data for Styleware maps into:
- Joomla content
- Joomla categories
- K2 content
Other notable changes
We updated support for K2 version 2.7.1 so there is no problem anymore with a missing library. We implemented auto-loading for the addons, what this means is that it doesn't matter anymore in which order you install CSV Improved or the addon. You can now also import multiple files from an FTP folder. In VirtueMart it is possible to import and update orders for guest users.

New release CSVI Pro 7.1.0
This release marks the first feature release in the CSV Improved 7 series as we plough along. At first we thought to bring out another bugfix release but there were no urgent issues to fix so we decided to let it simmer a little longer and bring you some new goodies as well. Nothing really spectacular in this release but what deserves a little attentions is the generation of SEF URLs.
SEF URLs
Once CSVI 7 came out, exports become noticeably slower when exporting SEF URLs, the main reason behind this is because we adopted a new way of generating the SEF URLs. The forest of SEF extensions is dense and we tried to support the bigger ones as much as we could but as they keep changing, SEF URL generation kept breaking so we needed to find another way. So we did. Instead of generating the SEF URL ourselves we now ask Joomla to generate it for us by making a call to the front-end of your site mimicing to be a visitor. This works beautifully, were it not that it is considerably slower than before. Apart from the fact that with a lot of products the number of requests is not friendly either for your server. This has been fixed with this release. We now make it possible to cache the SEF URLs, so you only need to generate them once and can re-use them as much as you need for your export. This makes the exports really fast again. The caching of SEF URLs can be done while you run your first export or do it via a maintenance task. The maintenance task is recommended because it has a lot more optimized than a regular export. You can even schedule it as a cron job.

New release CSVI Pro 7.0.2
After the release of CSVI Pro 7 we are now at the second bugfix release. A few issues were discovered that we wanted to fix and release, mainly the cron import becoming slow. That has been fixed in this release and the cron import is back to it's normal self. There are no new features in this release, those will come in a future release.
The issues fixed in this release are:

New release CSVI Pro 7.0.1
Last week we released major version 7 of CSVI Pro. This was a great step forward with a lot of nifty features. Despite all our testing, bugs unfortunately emerged after release day. Over the past week we have been fixing these bugs and have now made available this bugfix release. There are no new features in this release, those will come in a future release.

CSVI Pro 7 released

New release CSVI Pro 7
A new year, a new release. Over the course of the last 6 months we have been working hard to bring you a new release of CSVI with not only bugfixes but also a whole bunch of new features. This release is a first step towards a more independent CSVI Pro. The extra framework we used in the previous releases has been discontinued and CSVI is now completely Joomla! native code.
HikaShop support
As announced in the past, we continue to improve support for HikaShop. This release is no different, we added more support for HikaShop options in the import and export areas. The biggest change is most likely the order import which now makes it possible to import orders and order products into HikaShop.
Form2Content
A complete new extension that we support is Form2Content. Form2Content allows you to add content in a form based field where you control all the form elements and the look and feel. We have build 3 imports and 3 exports, this allows you to fully import and export all needed data to manage your Form2Content forms, fields and content. We have created tutorials for Form2Content as well for all these imports and exports.
Example templates
Example templates are now available for all supported extensions. You can install the example templates in CSVI from the Maintenance menu.

Multi-replace rule
As of PHP 7.0 it is no longer possible to use PHP functions in a regular expression. This is something many people make use of within the replace plugin. To make it possible to still have the same kind of actions available we developed the multi-replace plugin. This plugin can do what the old replace plugin did but more. What the multi-replace plugin can do is to chain operations, so you can say first do A then do B and finally do C. There is a list of operations available in the multi-replace plugin and if you want to have more operations added, let us know.
The old replace plugin will no longer shipped as of CSVI 7.0 however it will remain on existing installations and can still be used. This way you can setup any new rules using the new multi-replace and gradually move out the old replace plugin.
