RO CSVI 8.0.0 stable release
For the past 3 months we have been going through the paces to create a stable RO CSVI release that runs both on Joomla 3 and 4. Today is the day we see the release of RO CSVI 8.0.0 stable which runs on both Joomla 3 and 4. We are looking forward to support the next major version of Joomla.
Joomla 4 and supported extensions
In our previous announcement we already mentioned that we are not able to test the complete RO CSVI on Joomla 4 due to some extensions not being available for Joomla 4 just yet, most notably VirtueMart and J2Store. They are working hard on a new release but no stable has been brought out yet. Once this happens, we will surely test this as well. For the most part this is not a real problem because the underlying architecture is the same for Joomla 3 and Joomla 4.
A new look
In RO CSVI 8.0.0 we have removed the Dashboard, Import and Export menu items and made the Templates the central part of where you manage your routines. Straight from the template listing you can run your template or even while you edit your template you can now start your import or export.
Improved XML support
The XML reader has been rebuild from the ground up allowing RO CSVI to handle even more complex XML files.
Custom overrides
In case you have any custom export overrides that use the Group by and Sort by fields, please check the Override import/export routines document for breaking changes. This is a change due to supporting Joomla 4 we moved from the old repeatable field to the new subform field.
