Recently the Rabobank has been sending out an email regarding the use of Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol. This is raising questions among the users of RO Payments and we want to clarify what this means.
The TLS protocol determines how the communication happens between your website and the Rabobank. This is basically an agreement on how the two parties talk to each other. There are different versions of TLS due to development as bugs are fixed, features added and security improved. You can read all about it on the Wikepedia page on Transport Layer Security.
There is nothing RO Payments can do about this as this needs to be setup on your server. Most hosts have already upgraded their infrastructure to use TLS 1.2 but to be sure it is best to contact your hosting provider and ask them if they support TLS 1.2.

Voor een veilige koppeling tussen uw webwinkel en Rabo OnlineKassa hanteert Rabobank het zogenaamde Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol.
Van dit protocol ondersteunt Rabo OnlineKassa op dit moment zowel versie 1.1 als 1.2. Echter, op 30 november 2019 zal versie 1.1 worden uitgeschakeld en kunnen verzoeken voor online transacties vanuit uw webwinkel uitsluitend via TLS 1.2 aan Rabo OnlineKassa worden aangeboden.
Wanneer u nog gebruik maakt van TLS protocol versie 1.1 dan dient u zo spoedig mogelijk te upgraden naar versie 1.2. Check met uw IT dienstverlener / Webwinkel hosting partner of voor uitgaande berichten van uw web winkel naar Rabo OnlineKassa TLS 1.2 staat ingesteld. En laat dit anders per direct upgraden. Zonder TLS 1.2 kunt u vanaf 30 november 2019 geen transacties accepteren in uw webwinkel.
