The previous release was quite some time ago but we have some great and exciting features in this release. Single Sign On is now available for the back-end login as well, attribute mapping for service providers and many more.
SimpleSAMLphp
The SimpleSAMLphp library has been updated to version 1.19.0
Single Sign On Backend
The most prominent feature of this release is the option to allow Single Sign On in the backend. Users who have privileges to administer the site can now also sign in using their main account. If they are already logged-in, there is no need to login again, they can just click the single sign on log in button and will be logged in automatically.
Attribute Mapping Service Providers
Using the attribute mapping for service providers you can setup exactly which fields are send to the service provider and which value they contain. In cases where the service provider cannot be configured to take the values send from the identity provider, you can modify the settings now in the service provider profile.
Password protect certificate files
The certificate files used to sign the SAML messages can be password protected if you want, this was not supported in the previous release but has now been fully implemented. By using password protected certificate files you can make your system even more secure.
Other changes
The other changes to the system are that we now set a menu ID on the redirect links so that when a user goes back it is shown using the correct menu settings. A change has been made to the logout service, if a service provider does not send a SAML logout request, instead of an error, the user is just logged out.
