Hello Mike,
I have followed your tutorial but when i follow the 'New tempate wizard', the 'Edit Template Fields' function doesn't operate.
Do you mean to say that you are not seeing an option of creating template fields in 'New template Wizard'?
If I ignore that and click the 'Finalize' button then the template is formed with a note that i need to add the fields.
That is correct, for a new template we wont have any template fields by default.
So, I then select the template from the template list click on the 'Edit Template Fields' button and nothing happens.
Is that when you try to edit a template, on fields tab 'Edit Template Fields' button did not work?
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the component. Please advise what I can do next.
Try doing the Create template and Create template fields in steps. First create a template by going to Templates tab >> Template, click on New button on top and complete the template wizard as you did already. I would recommend not to think about template fields when creating a template. Once the template is done, go to Templates tab >> Template fields, select the template you just created and start adding the template fields.

Hello,
I tried to backup the 'import' tempates from a Joomla 4 website so I might re-use them in the future. But the buton 'Backup templates' does not produce a download / file.
Do you see any error with backup of templates? You can also backup templates from RO CSVI Maintenance page. Check Backup/Restore Templates document.
But not on the J4 website. On hitting the button there is no error message, the component view is still there, but without the templates in the view.
Do you see this with all templates? Also what if you click on Run template on template edit page? Does the export work?

But If the header name in your import file is different than the template fields name then set Use file for configuration option to No in your template settings and on File tab. With this option, CSVI will read your import file columns in the order of the template fields added.

On the import template: Do I need to create any template fields? Edit: I found this in the documentation: 2. Since the export file has column headers which are of Joomla content table there is no need to add template fields. You can run the import directly with the export file. So no need to set up temlate fields. Correct?

Hello, You need to add template fields for your template in the order of column headers as in your import file. Check Adding template fields document to know on how to add template fields. For manufacturer_id you need to add Skip as the template field so RO CSVI will skip this column on import. Also in your import template settings on File tab set Use file for configuration as No so RO CSVI will use the template fields as headers and not the column headers from the import file. Let me know if you need any more clarification.

Hello Conor, This error means you have a broken template because the action 0 doesn't exist. This would either be an import or an export. Not sure how you managed to get a template like this but you can install example templates by going to Maintenance -> CSVI Pro and then choose Install example templates. You could run these templates to see if the export works for you. Of course you can also create a template by clicking New on the Templates page. We have explained in the Create a template tutorial on how to create a template.
