HI,
I tried different modifications of the template. The import is going well but I do not have
- category display?
- taking into account the language used?
- the name of the terms rather than their value (example: man rather than "H";)

Hi,
I managed to solve the 3 points and everything works fine :-)
I have a big problem with the delimiter. I want to be able to use "," inside an evening field because it is very used in French in particular or for separating several values in checkboxes for example.

if I give a file to a person. she opens my file with ";" as a column delimiter then she makes her additions.
By saving freeoffice (but another would be identical) backup by changing the delimiter "," :o :-(

How is it possible that the spreadsheet does not modify the delimiter without asking a beginner to modify the parameters of its spreadsheet?

Hello,

This is not something we can control as it is not our software. Have a look at the Save a CSV file as UTF-8 tutorial perhaps that helps.

Using comma is perfectly fine as long as you use field delimiter " to surround the data. So this is a valid CSV:
"a,b,c","d,e,f"
Kind regards,

Hello,
I modify the contents of the file CSVI_test-import-site2.csv with free office then I save it under CSVI_test-import-site3.csv. While previewing CSVI_test-import-site3.csv, I see an offset (cf image). I'm looking with publisher. the fields are well saved by adding "" only on the fields where necessary.

When i checked the file CSVI_test-import-site3.csv with our RO CSVI Analyser the file delimiter was set to ( (See attached image) so i opened the file with Openoffice, set the text delimiter to be " and field delimiter to ; and resaved the file. The file is all good now on Analyser and also in import preview. This is not a CSVI issue but It looks like there is something wrong going on when you are saving the file using free office software. You can use Analyser to test your file before running the import.

Hello,
I understand but it seems to me that libreoffice works normally but that CSVI does not recognize well!
I have just done new tests
I am on ubuntu 18.04 with libreoffice (by default, no special configuration)
Here is my method
* I leave an export of an article with CSVI
* I made the modifications of the template by leaving delimit by default (cf image).
Imports:
* I modify CSVI_test-import-site2.csv by putting "" as a delimiter everywhere. I do the preview with CSVI everything is good.
* I modify the contents of the file CSVI_test-import-site2.csv with free office then I save it under CSVI_test-import-site3.csv. While previewing CSVI_test-import-site3.csv, I see an offset (cf image). I'm looking with publisher. the fields are well saved by adding "" only on the fields where necessary.

Hello,
I already followed the tutorial: https://rolandd.com/documentation/ro-csvi/save-a-csv-file-as-utf-8
I think I found the problem. I no longer used freeOffice but only the text editor.
I left a file well recognized by CSVI and I make variations in the header of the file (which is normally skipped!)
I notice that if I add a special character "(", "" "... behind the first term, this is a problem for CSVI
example
site, => ok
site , => nok
site(, => nok

Hello,
I notice that if I add a special character "(", "" "... behind the first term, this is a problem for CSVI

That is not a problem with CSVI, it is the CSV format which needs to have such special characters enclosed with double quotes ". You can know about valid CSV formats from here.

site , => nok

Should be enclosed in double quotes like "site ",
site(, => nok

Same here. Should be enclosed in double quotes like "site(",

Hello,
You file is not a valid CSV file. You need to enclose your headers with special characters with ". You can check your file using RO CSVI Analyser to see the errors and how the file is read.

Hello,
1/I have therefore removed the fields that the beginner does not need to know (category, alias, state ...) to have the least fields to fill.
How to do in this case?

The needed fields in Joomla content import are title or alias, catid or category_path. You need to have any one of these or fields in your file. That is the least fields to fill.

2 / for the moment, there is only one language, but the site will be multilingual later. How to insert the language value automatically without also asking the beginner ?

Language value can be inserted using language field in your import file. For having french language you can use value fr-FR for this field. It cannot be automatic as RO CSVI does not know which value user wants to insert. Only thing which is automatic is that if there is no language set, default of all is inserted.

3 / field values check box (or multiple select)
You're right, it's in other tests.
Similar example, by doing an export to see what you generated, I saw in the export file the values (eg "S | B";) and not the terms "small", "large"
I would like that by typing "big" in the table, the entry in the database is "B".

Do you want to export "big" in your export file instead of B which is the value in database?
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Yes if you put it in the template field as default value then you don't need to put it in CSV file. But you need to set Use file for configuration to No in your import template settings on File tab. This setting will read template fields instead of headers from import file. Save the template and run the import again.

2 / I do not see how! can I have an image?

See attached screenshot.

3 / yes it is that, the beginner insertre in the table: grand | medium ...

You can use Find and Replace operation RO CSVI Multireplace plugin to replace the Values from B to Big or to the value you need. Let me know if you are looking for this.

Hello,
Here is the debug in 1 of the examples I'm testing.
categorie_path I put ressources/sites-web in "default value"

Thank you for posting the debug log. I guess you have set the category_path in your template fields. Since you have set Use file for configuration as Yes in your import template on File tab, the headers from your import file are used and not from your template fields. So category_path value has not been imported. Set Use file for Configuration to No if you want to use your template fields as headers.

But i notice an issue with your import, title or alias and catid or category_path are required fields for Joomla content import. CSVI should have thrown message "Missing required fields id or alias or title,catid or category_path" because your import file does not have category_path. That did not happen in your case and testing in local site i was able to reproduce the issue. Please load the attached patch file and test the import again.

- category display?

Since the needed fields check is broken, you import ran and so categories are empty.

- taking into account the language used?

By default language is set to all. You need to specify language using language field in your import.

the name of the terms rather than their value (example: man rather than "H";)

Can you give an example on this issue? I am not able to follow what the actual issue is.

Hi,
Finally I'm not sure I understood everything :( . That's why I had to make a mistake.
My main use is to make a simple file for beginners.
