I imagine that the import of contact works in the same way as that of articles :-)

Yes import works the same way as articles just that you need to make your import template with Component as Joomla Contact as Operation as Contact. You can follow the above document for details on creating the template.

Hello,

I have more problems with the import of contacts than with the import of joomla articles !!
1 / I did not find the 3 fields (location and description of the contact) to add in the template (see image)?
2 / the email is well seen but not inserted in the contact card (see image)?

Less important
3 / is it possible to deactivate with a single click all the sample templates that I had to install?
4 / by exporting the template from another site to the production site (or even by copying it to the same site), I have not found my fields !!

Try updating available fields and then check if you can find the missing fields.

Can you post the debug log of your import? To get the debug log check How to collect debug information? document.

You cannot disable templates at once as of now. We will consider this request and include it in our future release.

Maintenance operation does not have debug log. I asked only for your import debug log. The log file attached in your reply is not complete so there is nothing to check. The fields you mentioned that you are not able to find are suburb, state and misc. If you don't see these fields even after available fields update then send me your site login details. I will take a look at it.

I checked your site and the debug log of the last import. I see that email used is hd@9online.fr. Debug log says "No user found with email hd@9online.fr" and so email has not been updated. You need to have a user with this email address.

Hi,
I understand what you are saying but I think there is a problem.
The advantage of Joomla contact sheets is that contacts are not necessarily joomla members. I can have 10,000 contact cards and 100 members.
Moreover
a) I have again manually created a contact form "no member" (without being linked to a member) which has an email "no-member@tmp.fr" -> OK
b) I put in my excel table, an email address (testH1@tmp.fr) which exists for a Joomla member -> nOK
I can see the contact linked "member testH1" to the joomla member "testH1" but again the email "testH1@tmp.fr" is not imported in the email field !?

Now i see what the issue is. We are talking about two different email fields. Joomla contacts import has email and email_to field where email field is used for getting Joomla user id and used in Linked user id field. email_to field is to get the email of the contact which is not necessarily be a Joomla user. You are using email field in your import, you should be using email_to to update the email address of a contact.

Ok it works :-)
I think I will have a problem with use.
In fact I will have in my automatic data import contact sheets of people who will already be a member of the site (but who do not have a contact sheet)
I made an import table with
a) "no member" contact
b) contact & joomla member <Author69>

They are all 2, well imported but <Author69> is not recognized as a joomla member
I will not ask beginners to enter the 2 emails
- E-mail
- email_to

How to (an email copy rule -> email_to) to automatically detect and link to the joomla member ?

You can use RO CSVI Field copy rule to copy email to email_to field.

When updating a record RO CSVI does not check if the record has been trashed. If the given needed field value matches with the value in database it updates the record. I don't see any need in having a trashed record item in import file.

If you talking about the interface from our help documents and RO CSVI, the screenshot of documents are of old CSVI interface. Let me know what difficulty you are facing with it so i can help you.

On the other hand, I did not see, right away, that you had to activate a plugin!

Yes by default all the plugins are disabled on install. You can activate the needed plugins from Extensions >> Plugins >> In Select type dropdown select csvirules.

Do you have a page describing the use of each plugin?

We have different documents explaining use of each plugin. Can you tell us which rule plugin you are looking for so i can send you the link? You can also search for Plugin in our search box on site so you can get the list of documents for the plugins.

As of now we do not have one page where all plugins are explained but you can have a look at RO CSVI Multi replace rule plugin document for creating rules using multi replace rule with detailed explanation and under Related Articles section at the bottom you can find links to other rules documentation.

Your backend interface is fine and css is not broken. The layout you are seeing in the screenshots of our documentation are for old CSVI.
