please update https://csvimproved.com/support/import/1120-product-import-with-custom-fields now I can just upload custom fields as their own field in a column not to merge through custom_title and custom_value csv product_sku;custom_1;custom_2;custom_3;custom_4;size_5;size_6;test_7;custom_8 123;2;3;red;red;40;m;aa;cc 456;2;7;pink;pink;42;l;;aa This is a lot easier than the description I do not know if this comes through version 7 but it works

I have several 'string' type custom fields, all of them are lists with semicolon separated default value. After I created these I added them as available fields in CSVI and created a template with fields like product_sku, custom1, custom2, custom3 It works well for months. But now I have to add a new custom field which should handle multiple values (tags). Some products have only one tag but some products have multiple tags. Can I set this with a separator? like product_sku;custom1;custom2;custom3;tags mysku;mycustomvalue1;mycustomvalue2;mycustomvalue3;mytag1~mytag2~mytag3

Hello, Have a look at Product with custom fields import document to know on how to import multiple values for a custom field. You should be using custom_title and custom_value for importing multiple values. So your CSV will look like product_sku;custom1;custom2;custom3;custom_title;custom_value mysku;mycustomvalue1;mycustomvalue2;mycustomvalue3;tags~tags~tags;mytag1~mytag2~mytag3

Hello, If you have disabled fields in the template and you give colors to the template fields the orders of the colors are wrong. Probably because it counts the disabled fields in the rendering. FIELD1 = RED FIELD2 = DISABLED FIELD3 = GREEN FIELD4 = YELLOW FIELD5 = NO COLOR Then the colors are shifted. So in the exported templates FIELD4 = Green and FIELD5 = Yellow. Easily reproducable. Just disable one field and work with colors adn this is the result :D EDIT: Fixed it by adding
if($field->enabled == 0){ continue; }
To the $fields as $field foreach loop in the csvimproved xlsx renderer.

Hello, I created this issue as a new post.
But with: Image custom field image1.jpg|image2.jpg I get nothing.(also tried full paths and ~ in all examples without success) All files are present in virtuemart_medias tables.
We don't have an option for multiple images to be converted as ids yet. May i ask why not have multiple image custom fields and use them as individual template fields? Something like
product_sku;image custom field1; image custom field2;image custom field3 10001;image1.jpg;image2.jpg;image3.jpg
Will this work for you?

Hello,
My question is: what would be the best way for the import?
You can import all custom fields as normal text custom fields in Joomla from the attached file. To do that 1. Create user custom fields in Joomla with name as column headers from the attached import file 2. Run update of available fields in RO CSVI 3. Run import with the file using Joomla user import template. The only problem I see is with importing subform fields "work_experience" and "education" in Joomla supported format.
But they are in also subforms in the old form.
They are subforms with JSON values but not in a way Joomla stores in database for repeatable custom field. For each row Joomla stores JSON value with prefix as row0, row1, row2... etc. and each field is stored with ID like field5 or field6 and not with name like datum_von or datum_bis as available in your import file. So this JSON format needs to be changed. An example for Joomla supported JSON for repeatable custom field is
{"row0":{"field5":"Tomovic","field6":"Andrej"}, "row1":{"field5":"Tom","field6":"Andrej"}}
Hello,
Hmmm, how can I solve this? There is some crucial data in there that needs to be exported (the date of the specific product). Do I need to add for example a ucstom field with this value?
Even if you add it as a custom field, RO CSVI cannot export only this value of custom field. Using custom_title, custom_value and custom_param in export will get all the custom field values of products. You can use Advanced Custom table export and join VirtueMart Orders and Products tables to export the needed fields.
No it's a text input: see the attached screenshot
You need to use custom_title, custom_value and custom_param fields to export values of custom fields for a product.

Thanks, I'll try that. i do have one more question (as I am cheking everything) about Cutom Fields in Phocacart. Are they recognized for import as custom fields for VM? I tried adding a custom field and updating fields in CVSI but when i try to select them for import template, they are not found. Is this a bug or is it not implemented (yet I hope) :) ?

Hello,
The other field we want to keep, is from breakdesigns extension (customfieldsforall). Is this salvageable?
You need to use custom_title, custom_param, custom_value fields to export customfieldsforall values and when you do that even the string fields with other custom field types are included. There is no way to organise what you need to export in custom_ fields. But if you know the name of the custom fields and values then using RO CSVI Multi replace rule and with Find and Replace operation you can find and replace unwanted custom fields to empty. Make sure ~ character is also replaced.

Hello,
You cannot find this field because this field is not supported in VirtueMart Order export.
Hmmm, how can I solve this? There is some crucial data in there that needs to be exported (the date of the specific product). Do I need to add for example a ucstom field with this value?
No this a blank import from scratch which means no customs fields are defined. Is it the reason ?
That is not completely correct as I see in the debug log that CSVI is indeed processing the custom fields you have in your site. Hello Ray, You need to do Custom field import to import your custom fields first and then do product import. This way custom fields are created before and used during product import. The custom_params field in custom field import will have the ids of custom fields you want to add for Stockable custom fields. You can have a look at the database table #__virtuemart_customs and see how the fields are stored in there.

Hello Eric,
Is there a way to fill virtuemart product custom fields while importing ?
Yes you can import custom fields for products using RO CSVI. You did not tell us which custom field type you are importing so i am adding documentation for all the custom field types we support. 1. Hello. I import a product with custom fields. The type of the custom field is a string. Custom fields should not be inherited for child fields. I expected that an import configured this way would result in a check mark appearing in the custom field inheritance field. ( screenshot in the attachment) But this is not happening. As a result, the child products have these custom fields added twice.
