RO Payments

Configure an RO Payments profile

After RO Payments is installed, it is needed to configure an RO Payments profile so the website is connected to a payment provider. You can even create multiple profiles for different users.

Profiles

A profile holds all the information required to communicate with your payment provider. RO Payments support multiple profiles so you can create a profile for each payment provider or multiple profiles for the same payment provider but with different descriptions or use.

Each option has inline help that you can see by clicking on the Toggle Inline Help button.

Create a profile

To create a profile the following steps are needed:

  1. Login to the Joomla Administrator
  2. Click on Components in the left side bar
  3. Click on RO Payments
  4. Click on Profiles
  5. Click on New
  6. From the dropdown underneath Payment provider select your payment provider
  7. Depending on which payment provider you select several options become available
  8. Fill in the details of your payment provider. There are separate articles linked below for payment provider specific instructions.
  9. Click on Save to create your profile.

There are three more tabs next to the Settings tab for customization.

Status

The status tab contains the options for configuring which statuses should be used based on the payment result. The first option is used to enable if the status of an order should be checked before the order is updated. By default RO Payments checks if the order status is set to Pending but this can be configured via the option Order status for updating order.

The option Order status for updating order is an important one, the order must have this status otherwise RO Payments will not update the order unless you have set to not check the order status. Usually this is used to prevent orders from being updated accidentally.

As for the other order statuses, you can set them as you required. The actual value from the statuses can be configured via the Statuses list.

Email

Extensions usually send out their own emails after an order is updated but RO Payments can also send different emails if you do not want to rely on the emails from the extension.

You can toggle which emails you would like to receive. The content of these emails can be configured via the Joomla Mail Templates system. To go there follow these steps:

  1. Click on System in the left side bar
  2. Click on Mail Templates in the Templates block
  3. Click on Filter Options
  4. Select RO Payments in the Extension list
  5. The list is now filtered for the email templates from RO Payments
  6. Configure the email templates as you like

Info

The info tab has links to the payment provider dashboard and payment methods. RO Payments only forwards the payment request from the extension and no longer has an intermediate screen to ask which payment method to use. The payment method needs to be forwarded from the extension or can otherwise be chosen by the customer on the payment page of the payment provider. In case you need to know the name of the payment method, you can visit the payment method page to find out the name of the payment. If you cannot find the name, feel free to check with us which is the correct name.
