I would like to know how we can transfer the files of the Media folder.
It doesn't work with the example-joomla-content-import.
Thanks
Christian

Hello Christian,
Are you looking at linking images to Joomla articles? You cannot transfer files from media folder with Joomla content import if the images are in local folder. You need to upload images first and then run the import so images are linked to the articles. In case of remote images they can be downloaded from URL and saved on import. Read through document I want to import articles with images for examples.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hello,
I'm sorry, but I can't upload documents and images attached to articles from a local site to another local site, in order to experiment with a site transfer, as the final site is to be put online.
I indicate in the path all the path to be created at the same time as the files to be transferred as follows: images/;images/Memberships;images/Administration;images/Colloques_et_séminaires;images/Communicationfrancophilie;images/Coopération_réseaux_cultures;images/Description_des_langues_africaines;images/Didactique_denseignement_bi-plurilingue_et_création_doutils_pédagogiques ; images/Dynamiques_linguistiques_politique_planning_représentations_et_imaginaires_linguistiques;images/Teacher_training_and_trainer_training;images/Lopa_institutions;images/lexicology_terminology_translation;images/Partners
No documents have been uploaded.
I saw that the file types were image files (jpg, png, gif), which excludes pdf and other .docx documents.
But the image files were no longer uploaded.
Do you need copies of screen.

Are you linking images to Joomla articles? Are you using any Joomla custom fields for images? Also there is only name of the images and no extension with image names. Can you post the import file you use? Also post the import debug log to check. To get the debug log see How to collect debug information? document.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hello,
These are the documents (pdf, docx, etc.) and images -jpg, png, gif) that are attached to the articles, and they are all in the Media folders.
The import file and debug log are attached.
Please note that the banner files are not included in the examples.
Best regards,
Christian

Hello Christian,
Thank you for the debug log. First thing I noticed in debug log is that in your import template on Image tab you have set Location Image files field to all possible image path. That is not how it works. You need to set one common path for all images. In this case it would be just images/. Please remove rest of the paths and save the template.

Location Image files: images/;images/Adhésions;images/Administration;images/Colloques_et_séminaires;images/Communicationfrancophilie;images/Coopération_réseaux_cultures;images/Description_des_langues_africaines;images/Didactique_denseignement_bi-plurilingue_et_création_doutils_pédagogiques;images/Dynamiques_linguistiques_politique_planification_représentations_et_imaginaires_linguistiques;images/Formations_des_maîtres_et_formation_des_formateurs;images/Instances_de_lopa;images/lexicologie_terminologie_traduction;images/Partenaires

These are the documents (pdf, docx, etc.) and images -jpg, png, gif) that are attached to the articles, and they are all in the Media folders.

RO CSVI does not process images or documents inside article on import. It will import content as it is in import file. Since these images and documents are already uploaded to new Media folder location, use RO CSVI Multi replace rule to find old path and replace with new path in articles. You can apply this rule on introtext and fulltext fields. That should solve the issue. Let me know if that helps.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hello Tharuna,
"One common path for all images" is what I did the first time. So "images/" is good and I don't have to change it.
For me, the old pathes are the same as the new pathes.
The source site is "localhost/monsite" and the target site is "localhost/monsite-demo
The full pathes are https://localhost/monsite/administrator/index.php?option=com_media&path=local-images:/ and
The origin folder is in the two cases images/ or local-images:/.
But in any case I have to change the path. So I think that RO CSVI Multi replace rule is not the reply.
If the files are already in the Media folder, it's because I transferred some of them manually.
As for the link between a file with a link and the target file, there is no issue. The issue is that no files of the Medias folder have been transferred.
You didn't reply about the banners files.
Kind regards,
Christian

Hello,
The issue is that no files of the Medias folder have been transferred.

There are two ways to import article images with RO CSVI

1. If the images are to be moved locally, Copy image files manually to media folder from one site to another and then use local image path for fields image_intro and image_fulltext.
2. If you want to download images from remote server then you need to use full URL for fields image_intro and image_fulltext. There is no way to copy entire media folder using RO CSVI imports. See example below on full URL

"alias";"category_path";"image_intro";"image_fulltext"
"sample-content";"news/local-news";"https://www.csvimproved.com/images/tutorials/maintenance_task_menu.png";"https://www.csvimproved.com/images/tutorials/maintenance_task_menu_full.png"
Kind regards,

Tharuna
