Hi Roland,
Have tried the attached VM3 import file; this is the first time i see an import file that freezes the import :P
See attached screenshot, the import just stays frozen there, can't get any log or anything

Chris

Hello Chris,
The test.csv file has a problem, the last column with images has no column name. Fix that and see if that has anything to do with the issue.
Perhaps it is not frozen but an error occured? You could follow the Using Firebug to analyze import problems tutorial and see if that shed any light if the import still freezes.

Thanks Roland, noticed last column, deleted it completely (it was just test column), but this doesn't solve it, still freezes.
Will check your advice with Firebug then.

Chris

Let me know what you find Chris.
Can you check the tmp/ folder, to see if there are any copies of your site in there?

Hi Roland,
No luck so far with the console (FF or Chrome), doesn't show any issues.
I noticed though there is some log file created indeed, see attached.
Can you clarify what kind of copies you mean?

Hmm, i just saw a weird character in the import (and log), smth like α, maybe this is the culprit, will check.

Ok Roland, confirmed that was the problem; so this is what happens when you import a non-UTF8 file with non standard characters

Hey Chris,
In the old Joomla versions you would be logged out at least, there is even an article dedicated to that. Good to know what the reason was.
