There is a product which has brand in it.

See the screenshot : http://prntscr.com/d4ykkj
http://prntscr.com/d4ylat

But when I click on that particular brand to see how many products belong to that brand. They show no products under the brand.

Showing empty products in this. But products are belonging to this brand.

Is there is need to do something during import for this ?

Can anyone help me out in this ? I have checked regarding this on net for hikashop but i am not able to find exact way how to do that..:(

So waiting for any help regarding this.

Thanks & Regards.

Hello,
What if you click on the product category? Do you see product there or not?

Hello,
I understand what you say, Brands is also a category as per HikaShop, So if you want a product to show under Brands category, you need to add Brand category to categories of a product. So as per your screenshot, you need to select brand category 1-800-PetMeds in categories field along with Pet Supplies. I found this in a HikaShop forum here.

You don't need to add them manually, it is like importing multiple category for a product. You can add brand category path to category_path along with product category in your import file so category_path will like product/categorypath|brand/categorypath, note that multiple categories are separated by |. That should solve your issue.

->Okay .But there is already too many things with category_path of my products.

1) In my csv categories are like :

apparel,babies-kids,house-home,jewelry,maternity,plus-size,sports,toys,luggage,school-supplies,intimate-apparel,yard-garden,shoes,teens,tools-hardware,home-improvement,natural-organic,college,apparel-women,apparel-men,big-tall,apparel-baby,appliances,department-stores,furniture,bed-and-bath,kitchen,lighting,accessories,sunglasses,rugs-flooring

2)So i have created rule to correct them.

I have created rule for adding product category/ at beginning and in place of comma i created another rule which is find comma and replace it with | product category/ and also rules for change these name from lowercase to uppercase. There is almost 163 rules already i created..:)

3)So Now in all this how can I add : product/categorypath|brand/categorypath. Looking very confusion to assign a brand category to categories of products.

Hope you get it..and let me know any possible thing for this.

Kind Regards

Hello,
Is the brand category path is in your import file? If yes, you can add a combine rule to combine category_path and brand path and apply the rule on category_path field. Combine character can be set to |. Try this and let me know if it helps.

Hello,
If the Merchant name is the brands name, then you can create a brand category path by adding a rule to this field so it generates path like Brands/Merchant name. You can do it by having a replace rule. After that you can create a combine rule and apply it to category_path field as i explained in my previous post. I would suggest you do a test import with these rules having one or two records in import file and then apply it to your cron template if everything goes well.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hello,

Regarding : If the Merchant name is the brands name, then you can create a brand category path by adding a rule to this field so it generates path like Brands/Merchant name. You can do it by having a replace rule.

-Merchant name column mapping is done with brand

See the screenshot : http://prntscr.com/d50lrp

So if i created a rule for this column to make it a brand path....then it effect on anything ? means in Brands display brand category http://prntscr.com/d50my1 ?

Regarding : generates path like Brands/Merchant name.

-> I did not get how exactly ? can you please explain little in brief

Thanks

We cannot apply any rule to this field, it will break the existing functionality. Follow the steps given below so you can add brands path to category_path field.

1. Add a new field to your template called combine just above category_path field. You can get this field from your template fields.
2. Create a CSVI field copy rule with source field as brand and target field as combine.
3. Create a CSVI replace rule, where Find field has /^/(this is regex to add text at beginning of value), Replace field with Brands/ and method to be regular expression.
4. Apply both the above rules to combine field which is added in step 1.
5.Create another CSVI field combine rule where Source field is category_path,combine, target field is category_path and combine character is |.
6. Apply the combine rule in step 5 to category_path field.

Thats it, if everything has been set correct you should be seeing brands path in your category_path field. You can see it in import preview page. Try this and let me know how it goes.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

1)Add a new field to template called combine just above category_path field.

See the screenshot : http://prntscr.com/d52joq

2)Create a CSVI field copy rule with source field as brand and target field as combine.

See the screenshot : http://prntscr.com/d52kuh

3)Create a CSVI replace rule, where Find field has /^/(this is regex to add text at beginning of value), Replace field with Brands/ and method to be regular expression.
5)Create another CSVI field combine rule where Source field is category_path,combine, target field is category_path and combine character is |.

See the screenshot for 3 and 5th step : http://prntscr.com/d5d8ib

4)Apply both the above rules to combine field which is added in step 1.

See the screenshot : http://prntscr.com/d52k2z

6)Apply the combine rule in step 5 to category_path field.

See the screenshot : http://prntscr.com/d52mwj

******I have followed all the steps But when i try to import products and see in preview how it goes I found category path become false.*******

Hi,

I had applied copy rule to brand field in my template.

See the screenshot : http://prntscr.com/d5dkl9

Still it seems incorrect in category path -

product category/coupon|product category/product-coupon|Brands/ computers-software,electronics,office-supplies,phones-wireless,school-supplies,camera-photo,department-stores

Coupon is a deal type in my csv which is messed up with category_path

See the screenshot : http://prntscr.com/d5dlq5

Please check

Hello,
Can i check the template in your site? Your same template in my local test site is working good with these rules and changes. I know this is a cron template so you can create a copy of this template in your site for me to test it. Let me know.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hello,
Ok, i looked into your site and made a copy of your 'final cron import' template and renamed it as 'final cron import testing' and tried to import the test file you attached here. I see category_path is all fine in import preview page. Please see the attached image. Please test and let me know.

Is there a way for copy a template ?

You can do a backup of template from CSVI maintenance menu and then use the downloaded XML file in restore the template option in CSVI maintenance menu.

Hello,

How it is Fine ?Let me explain you

Please check the test csv which i send you.In that

categories are like: computers-software,electronics,office-supplies,phones-wireless,school-supplies,camera-photo,department-stores

and the image you send please check in this it create a category_path like :

product category/coupon|product category/product-coupon|Brands/ computers-software,electronics,office-supplies,phones-wireless,school-supplies,camera-photo,department-stores

As you can see coupon , product-coupon are not in categories Infact these are dealtypes in csv please check

Let me know if you got it.

Ahh ok, got it.

The issue must be because the combine field is just above category_path and so it is taking one of the fields from import file. I moved it to the end now. The brands is getting added to category_path but in a wrong way. Like

product category/Computers/Computers/Software|product category/Electronics|product category/Office Supplies|product category/Electronics/Phones & Wireless|product category/School Supplies|product category/Electronics/Camera & Photo|product category/Department Stores|Staples

Note it should be Brands/Staples so i guess Brands/ is getting replaced somewhere though the combine field has it correct. Could be something related to the rules applied to category_path field. Checking on it and will update you.
Kind regards,

Tharuna
