Hi,

Ive just updated Joomla 3.5.0 & CSVi 6.5.5 now I cannot see CSVi in my admin components menu, although its still showing as being installed in Extensions > Manage

Please help asap, thanks!

Hello Jimmy,

Ok, since you have access to the old site let's take the following procedure:
  1. Uninstall CSVI 5
  2. Install CSVI 6
  3. Go to Maintenance -> Maintenance
  4. Choose CSVI on the first dropdown
  5. Choose Backup templates on the second dropdown
  6. CSVI will report where it stored the XML file.
  7. On the new site, go to Maintenance -> Maintenance
  8. Choose CSVI on the first dropdown
  9. Choose Restore templates on the second dropdown
  10. Restore the XML file you have from the backup operation
  11. You should now have your templates again
  12. Run the export


You may end up with templates with the same name but the ones at the bottom of the list are the new ones. If the export doesn't run please send me a private message with login details for both Joomla and FTP and I will take a look what is going on.

I got the following error on step 6 when processing the backup of templates.

I actually made a backup of the templates before step 1 in CSVI 5, I cant possibly use this?

Or would you like me to prepare admin/ftp access for you to take a look if thats still ok? thanks again!

I have not seen that error before, it probably got a character it doesn't know how to handle.

The backup you made of the templates before step 1 is a dump of the csvi_templates table?

Please prepare the access to admin/ftp and I will take a look. This will be the fastest way now I think.

Hello Jimmy,

The mystery has been solved. Your templates had the wrong table selected. As selected table you had acymailing_action but this is not the correct table. So I selected the correct table, added the fields to the template and ran the export. All is working as far as I can tell. Please check and let me know.

Hi, Thanks for your reply and help!

Ive just run the import and it seems to have created blank items for every valid item imported, although everything else appears to be ok, (ive deleted them now as they are on the live site, but if you run the import you will see what i mean)!

The exports indeed seem to be working ok when run in the backend, although when run in the frontend via the menu item im getting a blank white screen after logging in ..when the 'destination' setting is anything other than 'Use template settings' and when it is set to 'Use template settings' i get the following error:

Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /components/com_csvi/controllers/exports.php on line 140

Once again thanks for your help ..looking forward to getting this fixed!

Hello,

As for the import, the import fields need to be updated to the new names. That is why the preview is more empty than filled. The preview should show all the data you want to import. The custom fields are now prefixed with their group name. This is to allow duplicate names in different groups.

As for the export, I am able to reproduce the "white screen". I tis not really a white screen, there is just no output. I am going to look further into this and get back to you.

Hi, Thanks for your help!

- Import -
This import has 141 fields, some of which are combined fields.
Are you saying I need to go and edit these 141 fields and give the 'new names'? What are the new names, what do you mean by this, what setting must I add? This is a lot of additional work for me.
And why am I having to re enter all this information, can it really not be carried over with the upgrade from the CSVI 5???? As you know I have a backup setup of the CSVi site.

A little disappointed to see after all this time it seems much still needs doing to get these working.

My client has been without the import/export for around 2 weeks now, id love to get this working asap, without having to redo much of what Ive already done.

To clarify, can everything from CSVI 5 not be carried over to the upgraded CSVI 6? As I previously spent many many many hours setting these import/exports up perfectly, it wasn't easy and Im very reluctant to have enter all these import fields again.

I have fixed the template for you. Have a look at the new LFS Import template. You can start the import and look at the preview how everything looks. You may notice I have removed a bunch of combine fields as they are no longer necessary.

The reason is that the move from CSVI 5 to CSVI 6 is a migration and not an update. Major version changes are always more than just a click of a button, that is why it is a major version number change. This seems to have been missed.

No this cannot due to the major changes.

Edit: The front-end export is now fixed as well as far as I am concerned. Please check that as well.

Hi, thanks again for the reply/help!

Ive just run the import and problems im afraid (ive just manually changed everything back via the k2 item).

So far ive spotted the 'room dates1-10' are not importing the date correctly, although its perfect for the combined room field.

Also room prices now have a currency sign, when this should only be added to the combined room field.

There are various issue caused on the k2 template because of the above, thats why all those replacement fields were previously in place because of the price and dates fields.

Any reason why I cant still have those running? I think you mentioned in your previous post they weren't necessary but they are!

Also when trying to run the import for the last approx 10-15 times im getting the following error, although I the server seems fast and Ive even changed back all the fields settings I changed to ensure this wasn't effecting it.

Of course I haven't made up the fields myself but modelled it after what is in your CSVI 5 installation. Since I am only human, mistakes are bound to happen.

I think we should just be importing 1 item and leave it unpublished so it won't affect the live site and can easily be cleaned up. I did not run any import by the way, only looked at the preview.

I will take a look.

The 500 error is an error where the server simply says there is an error but I won't tell you what. The server error log should have the real error in it. You will need to check that or ask the hosting provider for what the error is, with that error we will know what the problem is and can deal with it.

Hey JImmy,

I have taken another look, the PropertyDescription did not import because the field is not called PropertyDescription but ProperyDescription. That is fixed.

The room date shows as 21-MAR-2016. This is incorrect? If so, how should it look like?

This has been fixed as well.

I have re-added the combine fields for the prices and dates.

Thanks again for your help, the import is now working ok :)

Regarding the exports, although these are working fine and exporting the files, im currently getting a blank white screen when running them on the frontend, there are no errors in the log or with joomla error reporting on full nothing is displayed.

That is to be expected because you are exportingthe file to the server so there is nothing to show on the site.

Hi Roland,

I have an issue with the import which exists still since the recent upgrade.

Basically k2 items which already exist seem not to be updating correctly, for example on the link [removed] the property 1RL only has one room available on the imported CSV file but on the k2 item/site there is data for 2 rooms still, its not clearing the data for these fields.

Also my client is complaining of a similar issue with the k2item not updating correctly when it is unpublished.

If you have any idea what could be causing this issue I would be much appreciated I have been looking for hours, many thanks!
