My articles are 'people' and in our import let's say a person is 'moved' to a different category, the category needs to change from Professor to Emeritus.

I know that the category path is part of the 'primary' key in rocsvi to make the update, so I wasn't sure if this can be done or not.

What can I do for this to happen?

thanks,
Laura

Hello Laura,
So you want to update your Joomla articles to different category ID, correct ?

I know that the category path is part of the 'primary' key in rocsvi to make the update, so I wasn't sure if this can be done or not.

Yes category_path or catid are required fields for Joomla content import.

What can I do for this to happen?

If it is about updating category ID of Joomla articles then you can do that using RO CSVI custom table import. In this template on Options tab set Custom table to content and import id and catid field with new value. That should update the category of an article.

Let me know if that helps.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Thank you so to be specific...

1. create a template using CUSTOM TABLE
2. set the table as content
3. use the content article id as the primary key, so pass that in the source
4. include the NEW catid
5. set the options = UPDATE

So technically the only fields that I need are:

article ID
catid (new category)

All of the other fields and tags will remain the same since I won't include those values.

thanks,
Laura

Hello Laura,
Yes the steps are correct. If you use id in import file, RO CSVI will do the update of the table. So just id and catid should be enough to update to new category ID.

Let me know on how that goes.
Kind regards,

Tharuna
