Hello,
I need import Virtuemart 1.1.9 with a Joomla 1.5.26 to Virtuemart 3.0.6.4 in Joomla 3.4.1. (Joomla is yet migrated ok, I need only import VM) I'm not sure if this is possible directly or I must migrate first from Virtuemart 1.1.9 with a Joomla 1.5.26 to Virtuemart 2+ and Joomla 2+ or Joomla 2.5+...
I see some video-tutorials but they are with old versions of CSVI and they are very different than the actual version.
I can import directly from Virtuemart 1.1.9 with a Joomla 1.5.26 to Virtuemart 3.0.6.4 in Joomla 3.4.1?

Excuse my English and thanks for your help

Kind regards

Hello,

Can you please start a new thread with a descriptive title because we are already on page 6 and this is becoming an unusable thread for people reading this.

Post all the requested information in detail in the new thread and I will see what is in the debug log.
Kind regards,

RolandD

I have a problem with the shoppers. They haven't all information. I have the name, username and e-mail. But have not the ID, the billing information (address, etc) and neither the shipment address. I try to import this from Jommla 1.5.6&Virtuemart 1.1.9 but the result csv file is empty, I can see only the name of headers. I import from the table "user info export" and choiche all fields.

Hello,

I think my error is not put "rewriting existing files"
If you set this to No, existing entries will not be updated. You should only use this if you have data in your import file you don't want inserted into the site.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hello Roland,
I adjoint the last debug info and a screen capture of configuration.
The fields that I used are: file_url, file_url_thumb and category_path
The path in field "File location category images" is: images/stories/virtuemart/category/
The full images and thumbs of VM Categories are loaded in a correct locations.

I think my error is not put "rewriting existing files" because I have changed a name of one category and in this case the importation create the image ok to the category with the old name. I will try like this and I will say you again what is the result

Thanks for your help!

Hello,

I do like this but the category images not appears and the thumbs neither.
That is fine to zip the images and move them over.

I understand thatI not must processing the images because the images are yet load in a directory.
Processing the images or not, doesn't make a difference in your case. You already have the images. Just set image processing to Yes and thumbnail creation to No.

Post the file you are importing for the category images and the debug log.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hello,
The problem is that in old web site the images are not the same sizes. I have a very bad images in this sence. For example, someone are 75 x 120 and someone 120 x 63, etc.

My service support on my hosting in Spain (Webempresa) recomended put the category images of old website in a zip and then load this zip to the correct location in a new website with VM3. Then extract the zip into the directory. I do like this but the category images not appears and the thumbs neither. I can't find the reason. I understand thatI not must processing the images because the images are yet load in a directory. I understand I must only to writte the location: images/stories/virtuermart/category/ (Curiously with product images it runs nice, I think...) Maybe the template is complicate to manage (Epimeteo) because is the first time that I use a template of Gantry... Maybe they are something changed in VM3 configuration... I don't know.

Many thanks for your help!

Hello,

If your category images are the same size on the old website, importing them to the new website should work OK then I think. There you would have the same categories with the same images.

You can't import the category images?

Hello Rolland,
Thanks for your patient help. :)
In old web with vm1 the link to the Shop item menu (Tienda): index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=virtuemart
In new web with VM3 the link is: index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=virtuemart&productsublayout=0
I can't change this link and I think they shows the front page in a different way

At the moment I solved it showing the vm category names without image and changing the default image "noimage.gif" by another wiht. My problem is I must do a very big transition from Joomla1&VM1 and a template not responsive, a lot of things! Now I know that the reason of a lot of problem I have are the images. The sizes are not all the sames and this is not a problem in a not responsive template but maybe is a problem in a responsive template. I need a lot of time to find where is the origen of problems. I adjoint a screen capture with the solution. Is not ideal, but at the moment it's the only one I have. (I'm working to arrange the web dessing, this is only to show solution but the web desing is not finish...)
If you can help me to find a better solution I will be thanhfull!
Kind regards!

Hello,

I'm affraid I don't know to explain enough in English. Sorry. I try to explain better.
No problem, we keep trying :) Perhaps more pictures to help explain?

With CSVI version 1.9.2 I don't know what is the name of the images and thumbs of virtuemart (version 1.1.9) categories and I can't import this field
In VM 1 these fields are called category_full_image and category_thumb_image when you use the Category details export. You can import this into VM3 but you need to change the names to file_url and file_url_thumb.

Does that help?
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hello.
I'm affraid I don't know to explain enough in English. Sorry. I try to explain better.

In a csv file that I import to Virtuemart3 I have only two fields from virtuemart1.
^file_url^~^file_url_thumb
The other fieds of Virtuemart categories are imported yet ok.

With CSVI version 1.9.2 I don't know what is the name of the images and thumbs of virtuemart (version 1.1.9) categories and I can't import this field. For this reason I ask if is necessary have the name of each image in a csv file that will be export to Virtuemart 3.
Maybe the problem is only I don't know the field name of the vm category images and field name of vm category thumbs with Virtuemart 1.1.9

Thanks for your help

Hello Roland,
Excuse me. My English is not good and maybe I don't understand right all concepts. I try do a importation as image import but I do something wrong. The images of categories and thumbs are yet in a location ok. Then I think no must to procesed them or load them again in server. I think I must only to say the location to the system in order VM find the images. But in a csv file I have from Joomla1&VM1 they are not the name of images. Maybe this is the problem? I think that is not necessary this. I think that only with the location VM find and load the images and thumbs. But maybe I'm wrong.

I adjoint a screen capture

Many thanks for your patien help

Hello,

For this reason I think I must to do two import (one for full image to the location finished in "category/" and the other import for the thumbs to the location finished in "category/resized"
This is not correct, it should be one import because both the large and thumb image is one database record.

that I must to writte is the location of full images.

Is correct?
From the tutorial:

file_url
Here you put the name of the main image for example hammer.png
file_url_thumb
Here you put the name of the thumbnail image, always prefixed by resized for example resized/hammer.png
The path is not supposed to be added to the filename in your CSV file.

Are you using the product import or the image import to import the images? If you use the image import you can set the Process images to No and the images will not be processed but stored in the database.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hello,
Sorry I confused about this:
There is the problem. You must supply the file_url field as well. As this field is missing, the images are not being processed. How can you have the thumbnail but not the full image?

I know I'm wrong but I explain you. I think that the full image and thumb image are differents locations.
The location of full image of categories is images/stories/virtuemart/category/
The location of thumb image of categories is images/stories/virtuemart/category/resized

As the images exist in a correct location, (both: full images and thumbs) I think that images no must be procesed, only writte the location in order virtuemart find them. . For this reason I think I must to do two import (one for full image to the location finished in "category/" and the other import for the thumbs to the location finished in "category/resized"

If now I understand right your answer I must procesed the images (both: full image and thumb) when I export file. And I supose the location that I must to writte is the location of full images.

Is correct?

About the other subject "multilanguage", I will read the Setting up a VirtueMart 2 multi-language shop tutorial. I supose I find the answer also to the Joomla 1 and joomfish translation.

Thanks and kind regards!

Hello,

Fields: file_url_thumb (Only this because the other information are yet imported ok)
There is the problem. You must supply the file_url field as well. As this field is missing, the images are not being processed. How can you have the thumbnail but not the full image?

t's possible configurate this option to import the joomfish translation or that must be do manually?
Read the Setting up a VirtueMart 2 multi-language shop tutorial. It explains how the translation language works.

The fields like product_width and product_height haven't changed as far as I can see. I also see them in the list of Available Fields on Joomla 1.5.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hello Roland,
I solved a problem about thumb sizes, they are a cause of template and imaged sizes. The template in Joomla 1 was not responsive and the template that I use in Joomla 3 are responsive. This make some problems also if the image size are not the same in all images. I say that because when I solved this the prices appears ok. Then, as you say, is not a CSVI importation problem :)

About the other problem (The VM not find the category images and they are in a correct location) you ask me about the debug log and CSV file that I used for import I don't find it. It is not generated. But the images are yet in a location and I think I only must to writte the route without processing the images.

I configure the import template like this:
Fields: file_url_thumb (Only this because the other information are yet imported ok)
Primary language: Spanish
Translation language: Spanish
General option images: All in "No". (No processing images)
File image location: images/stories/virtuemart/category/resized/
It's ok?

Two questions more:
- In the Joomla 1.5.26 to 1.1.9 VM had the Catalan language translated with Joomfish. Now with Joomla 3 there is the multi-language concept but I don'tknow how to migrate Catalan translations from Joomla 1&VM1 to Joomla 3 & VM3. In CSVI PRO Joomla now appears the "primary language" option and "Translation Language" but I don't know how works. It's possible configurate this option to import the joomfish translation or that must be do manually?

-In CSVI Pro I see import options to Virtuemart that I can't find in CSVI for Joomla 1. For exemple, I can't find the files "Product_high", "Product width" to import that from csv file exported from Joomla 1 to Joomla 3. Excuse my English, I hope you can understand me. I would say they are fields that I can import in the last version of CSVI PRO, but maybe this is not possible to do because I can't generate this files with CSVI in Joomla 1.

Many thanks and kind regards

Hello,

As mentioned before I am not here for support with template issues or VirtueMart. One tip I can give, check if the image is not resized by HTML. So in the image tag you can have something like this:
<img width="xx" height="xx"
that would also resize the image.

Virtuemart not find the images and thumbs of categories but the images are in a correct location
Can I help me?
I will need the debug log and CSV file you used for import to see what is going on.
Kind regards,

RolandD

The first time I charged the thumb images in a directory and say not to create thumbs when make the export. The second time I delete all thumb images and say Yes to create thumbs when make export. But two failed. The thumb images exist but they are showed very big. I specifed 90x90 but are showed bigger. Excuse me if can be to the tmplate.

But I have another problem I think is sure not about template. Virtuemart not find the images and thumbs of categories but the images are in a correct location
