Hi !

I need to have the items I imported indexed as well. I do not have access to a cli cronjob. How can I make sure the imported items are indexed in smart search after import?
thanks
Elisa

Hello Elisa,

You do not specify which indexes but I assume the Smart Search indexes. RO CSVI does not update any indexes. You said that you do not have access to the CLI cronjob so I assume you run the import manually, after that is finished you need to click the Index button in Smart Search.
Kind regards,

Hi Roland, thats too bad. Normally the index should be updated by import? I switched back to Joomla3 now and to my old importer and shop because this and other things seem to need lot of rethinking.

Hello Elisa,

Normally the index should be updated by import?
RO CSVI has never done that and there is no plan to do that. The same way that RO CSVI does not send out emails when importing users, or sending out order confirmations when importing e-commerce orders.

Not having the option of cronjobs is very limiting of course. I see RO CSVI more as part of a workflow rather than the one extension that does everything with one click. One of the steps of the workflow is using RO CSVI. That is the reason I suggested to click the Index button in Smart Search after you clicked the Run button in RO CSVI. Would you have had the cronjob option, the indexing would happen automatically.
Kind regards,

Hi Roland, normally when you save an joomla article the index is automatically triggered. I would expect that from the import process as well without the need to remember it or to click somewhere or to set up an indexing process to be honest. there must be a way I guess, At least HP said that ...
Thanks for considering it maybe

Hello Elisa,

Almost anything is possible :D The question is more like, do we want to rebuild the Finder indexing system or any other third party indexing system. I will have a look and see if there is anything we can do. No promises though.

I really fail to see why it is so impossible to setup a cronjob to run the finder indexer.
Kind regards,

RolandD
