Hi

I am trying to update from version 7.4.1 to 7.51.1

Firstly I get the error

Warning
COM_CSVI_FAILED_QUERY
Package Update: There was an error installing an extension: com_csvi_7.5.1_pro.zip
Error
Error installing package

Yet when I check I have the following indicating they are installed

CSVI Pro
Administrator Component 7.5.1 27 March 2018
CSVI Pro
Site Package 7.4.1 18 January 2018

Am using Joomla 3.8.3 with PHP 5.6

Thanks

Tony

Hello,

Ok, let's sort this out. So the error you see happens after CSVI has been installed, so you are OK there. The error happens when CSVI tries to check the database structure. If you install the patch Tharuna posted in this thread and then go to About and click Database. Do you see an error and if so which error do you see?

As said the installation of CSVI is OK, so if you have no problems with your imports/exports you can just leave this and wait for the next release.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Well, the first error happens when I try to install the new version. It says
Warning
COM_CSVI_FAILED_QUERY
Package Update: There was an error installing an extension: com_csvi_7.5.1_pro.zip
×
Error
Error installing package

So I am not sure it actually installed. But I can add the patch, and did, successfully. here is the result:
0 Added Success Copied patch file from /mnt/stor13-wc2-dfw1/561654/2011523/http://www.campfirervs.com/web/content/tmp/com_csvi/patch/1523388495/administrator/components/com_csvi/assets/core/database.xml to /mnt/stor13-wc2-dfw1/561654/2011523/http://www.campfirervs.com/web/content/administrator/components/com_csvi/assets/core/database.xml
0 Added Success Copied patch file from /mnt/stor13-wc2-dfw1/561654/2011523/http://www.campfirervs.com/web/content/tmp/com_csvi/patch/1523388495/administrator/components/com_csvi/helper/database.php to /mnt/stor13-wc2-dfw1/561654/2011523/http://www.campfirervs.com/web/content/administrator/components/com_csvi/helper/database.php

Then. when I try to do the next step, fix the database, I get this error:
An error occured running the query ALTER TABLE `kfdsviucsvi_sefurls` MODIFY `plainurl` VARCHAR(512) ;. This generates the error Index column size too large. The maximum column size is 767 bytes.

I would say I can wait, but we are trying to update the fields because we are writing an import for Virtuemart - and the fields are not up-to-date:
The list of available fields is out-of-date for extension com_customfilters. Update the list to ensure you have all fields available.

If I click that to update the fields, this happens:
Error

Hi Roland

I tried to update to 7.5.1 and got the error

Warning
COM_CSVI_FAILED_QUERY
Package Update: There was an error installing an extension: com_csvi_7.5.1_pro.zip
Error
Error installing package

I tried the patch then got

Error
An error occured running the query ALTER TABLE `asup8_csvi_sefurls` MODIFY `plainurl` VARCHAR(512) ;. This generates the error Index column size too large. The maximum column size is 767 bytes

when I tried to fix the database

I have had no problems with the extension until I tried to update to 7.5

The problem is now on all of my sites except the one that Tharuna and you worked on

Is there a way that I can get these sites sorted or should I wait for now?

Thanks

Tony

Good morning!

First, thank you so much for working so hard on this. We really appreciate it!
However, my install did not work either. here is the error message:
×
Warning

When I tried (just in case) Fix Database on About page, this same error occurred.

Hello,
We have fixed this SQL error and have updated the fix with the patch file in the post here. Can you try to load the patch file and go to CSVI About page and click on Fix Database button? Check if it fixes your SQL errors.
Kind regards,

Hi Tharuna

Thank you so much for your efforts. I see 7.5.1 is on sqclothing but now I have a problem when customers try checkout.

I have to roll back the database to activate 7.4.1 so customer can order or my employer will be furious

Regards

Tony

Hello Tony,
This SQL error is not related to CSVI Update or CSVI component itself.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hello Tony,
Yes since you are seeing this on checkout you need to check this error with VirtueMart.
Kind regards,

Hi Tharuna

Just one last question. Would I need to run the patch for future updates or will the issue be resolved in future updates?

Thanks
