hello, i had csvi 5.18 and i have managed to add child products. The csv file looks like this. I have created custom filed child variant named size. That was on joomla 2.5 and virtuemart 2.x
Now i have managed to import using the same way and file but unfortunately i have no success. Please tell me if you can how the csv should look like using the child products.

Thank you in advance.

don't take into account my previous message. Everything is ok but i can't assign the products on a specified category. To be more specific i write in the csv category_id 22 lets say and during the csvi pro import process in the preview step the category_id field it doesn't apper.

You can only select the Size field after you imported the parent products. If you have not imported the parent products there is no way CSVI knows you have this field. As described in the tutorial, you can already add the fields to your own file but you can't select them in the template until you imported the parents.

For the category don't use the category_id but the category_path field.
Kind regards,

RolandD

I'm trying your suggestion but, I'm having a problem in the product multi variant import example of yours. I can't find when i add template fields the field name "size". And something else i have to add a filed category_id to specify the category. Am I right?

Hello,

The way of managing custom fields can be done in many different ways in VirtueMart. The recommended way is the Multi variant custom field.

Have a look at this field in VirtueMart, it may be what you need.
Kind regards,

I have tried the above link that you specified, and i have seen it, while searching in your forum, but the Select a plug-in: Stockable Customfields doesn't exist in my version instead there is a dropdown menu with the name additional parameters and in the box there are two choices VMcustom text input and plgvm specification.

Can you tell us which version of VM, CSVI and Joomla you are using now? However you can have a look at Stockable custom fields document for CSVI which explain the use stockable custom field for VM3.
Kind regards,

Tharuna
