Hello,
Is it possible to import images and sizes from an external source into J2store, and put your own text to it through the backend in J2Store?
Thanks!
Greetings,
Ton

Hello Ton,
Yes, you can import images from external URL. Can you share an example link on how your images and sizes going to be?
You can have your own text in CSV file and using RO CSVI J2Store Product import template you can update it to the products.

Hello Tharuna,
Thanks for the quik reply!
What I actually want is the follwing:
Import data (images and text) from an external source what creates a new article and where the webmaster receives a mail that there is a new article (unpublished).
With a cron job (f.i. twice a day) the exernal database is requested and when there is a new image, a new article is being made of this (and the webmaster receives a mail)
Is this possible?
Thanks!

Hello Ton,
RO CSVI can import data from external database from one table. If it only about getting images, you can use J2Store Product images import template and set the database source in this template. Multiple table import from external database is not possible as of now.
There is a setting in RO CSVI template to import only new items. You can also set that import template to run as cron job. But there is no option to send emails with RO CSVIl when there is a new item.

Hello Ton,
You can test your imports on our demo server at https://demo.rolandd.com/administrator/. On our demo site
1. Go to RO CSVI Templates page and search for "Example J2Store Product Images Import" template.
2. In import template settings, on Source tab set Source to be Load from database. Set Connection type as Use remote connection. Set your external database details in the form and save the template.
3. Use Test connection button to check if the connection to database is successful.
4. Go to RO CSVI Template fields, select the import template from the dropdown list. Add J2Store image fields using New button. When adding a new field set Source field name from your external database. Save the field. sku is a needed fields for this import so you need to add this field to your import.
5. In the import template settings on File tab set Use file for configuration to No. This will tell RO CSVI to use template fields for import.
6. Run the import from RO CSVI Import page and by selecting the import template.
You can refer to the documents linked in my previous reply to set Source to database. Please do remember our demo site gets reset every 6 hours so your import data will be deleted when demo site is reset.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
