Result messages

After paying, the customer sees a message about the result of the payment. With Messages you write a message for each result and each profile, for example a thank you for a successful payment and an offer to try again for a cancelled one.

For a walk through this screen in Joomla itself, click Take a Tour in the top bar of the administrator and start the RO Payments Messages tour.

Where the messages are shown

  • on the result page of the RO Payments payment page;
  • on the status page, when the result is not known yet;
  • in HikaShop, VirtueMart, J2Commerce, RSForm! Pro, RSEvents! Pro, RSMembership! and RSDirectory!, when the customer returns from the payment provider.

Without a message for the result, the extension shows its own message.

Create a message

  1. Go to Components -> RO Payments -> Messages
  2. Click New
  3. Select the Profile the message is for
  4. Select the Payment status the message is for: Success, Payment open, Cancelled, Payment failure, Transfer or Unknown
  5. Enter a Subject, which is only shown in the list of messages
  6. Select the Language of the message, or All. On a multilingual site, write a message for each language.
  7. Choose in Joomla article or message whether you write the Text here or show an Article
  8. Write the Message, or select the Article
  9. Click Save & Close

Make a message for each payment status the customer can get. Which statuses that are depends on your payment provider; the Status tab of the profile shows them.

An article is shown with the content plugins of the site, so you can use for example a module or a form in it. The customer must be allowed to see the article.

Placeholders

These placeholders are replaced with the details of the payment:

Placeholder Replaced by
{ORDERNR} The order number
{ORDERID} The order ID
{AMOUNT} or {BEDRAG} The amount, for example 100,50
{STATUS} The result of the payment, for example success
{ORDERLINK} A link to the order, when the extension has an order page
{PAYMENT_REFERENCE} The payment reference of the payment provider, for example for a bank transfer
{USERID} or {KLANTNR} The user ID of the customer

Some extensions add their own placeholders:

  • RSForm! Pro: every placeholder of the form, such as {global:submissionid} or {Name:value}, see Customize RO Payment messages with placeholders;
  • RSEvents! Pro: {eventName};
  • Event Booking: {eventTitle}, {numberRegistrants}, {ticketCode}, {registrationCode} and more details of the registration;
  • JGive: the details of the campaign, such as {title} and {goal_amount}.
