RO Payments

The installation of RO Payments is the same as any other Joomla extension and is done via the Install Extensions page in Joomla.

Before you start, you need to decide how you are going to use RO Payments:

• Stand-alone
  This will only use the RO Payments payment page
• In combination with one or more extensions
  This will use RO Payments together with one of the supported extensions and the RO Payments payment page

Stand-alone

You only need to download and install the RO Payments package.

Combination

You need to download the RO Payments package and the addon for the extension you want to use with RO Payments. You can use multiple addons at the same time. For example you can use payments in RSForms! Pro and VirtueMart simultaneously.

Installation

Here are the steps to install RO Payments extension and any additional addons.

1. Download the RO Payment package and addons you require from https://rolandd.com/downloads/category/ro-payments
2. Login to the Joomla Administrator
3. Click on System in the left side menu
4. Click on Extensions in the Install block
5. Activate the tab Upload Package File if not active already
6. Upload the RO Payments package file
7. Upload any addition addon files to install
8. RO Payments and the addons are now installed

Enable RO Payments plugins

After the installation we need to setup a few things to configure RO Payments. The first thing to do is to enable the RO Payments plugins.

1. Login to the Joomla Administrator
2. Click on System in the left side menu
3. Click on Plugins in the Manage block
4. Easiest is to filter the list on RO Payments
5. Enable the following plugins:
   1. Console - RO Payments
   2. System - RO Payments
   3. Button - RO Payments Payment Link (you can skip this one if you do not want to create payment links in articles)
6. The necessary plugins are now enabled

Create Result Page

After a payment is completed you will be taken to the result page so the customer can see the result of their payment. Usually this is the result page of the extension you are using, for example VirtueMart or J2Commerce. Now if you are doing any payments with the payment page of RO Payments, you will need a menu item for the result page. This is not mandatory but then you will get a non-SEF result page.

To create a result page do the following:

1. Click to Menus in the left side menu
2. Click on the menu you want to add the page to
3. Click on the New button in the toolbar
4. Fill in the menu details as usual
5. For the Menu Item Type select the RO Payments -> Result page
6. On the tab Link Type you can set the option Display in Menu to No. This way the result page will not show on the frontend menu. There is no reason for customers to go there directly
7. Save the menu item

After Installation

Once the installation is complete, the first step is to create a payment provider profile. You can read in the Configure an RO Payments profile document how to do that.
