Hello Roland,

I just create a new K2 item as usual and it is linked to a menu item

Its URL should be:

http://www.exoticlovesexshop.mx/404

But I got this string "com-csvi-about" on the URL

http://www.exoticlovesexshop.mx/com-csvi-about/404

I have a very similar site where I'm not using CSVI and its working fine

http://www.cervezaartesanalmexicana.mx/404

Why do I get "com-csvi-about" on the URL???

Thanks!

Hello,
You can either update your CSVI using Joomla updater or you can download the latest version from Downloads page of CSVI main site and install it from Joomla extension manager.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hello,
Your screenshot shows that you have CSVI 6.5.2 version. This issue was fixed in CSVI 6.5.7 and fix is available in all versions after that. You need to first update your CSVI to latest version to see the Fix Menu button in about us page. Also after update, you need to resave the existing menu items so you dont see the com-csvi-about in your URLs.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hi,

I have this com-csvi-about constantly, to each article I create.

http://lightco.com.au/com-csvi-about/guide-to-hanging-light-over-the-dining-table
http://lightco.com.au/com-csvi-about/guide-to-hanging-in-the-entrance
http://lightco.com.au/com-csvi-about/guide-to-hanging-your-light-over-the-kitchen-bench
http://lightco.com.au/com-csvi-about/guide-to-hanging-light-over-the-kitchen-sink
etc....

If I remove the com-csvi-about, I end up with a 404 page.
It seems to appear only for articles, nothing related to VM.

I went to csvi/about and click fix but the links remain the same.

Can you tell me please how to remove this?

Thank you

Hello,

I forgot to mention that existing menu items should be resaved. Did you do that as well?

Hello all,

The menu fix is ready. [ol]
  • Apply the patch file
  • Go to Components -> CSVI Pro -> About
  • Click the Fix menu button
  • Now you should be able to create regular menu items again.
  • [ol]
Let me know how it goes.

    Good morning,

First I would like to thank ncaipen for providing the test server where the issue was present, as this has proven very usable in determining the cause. The reason why it is hard to reproduce is clear as well, this all has to do with data corruption.

To keep a technical story simple, the root cause is that the menus table contains a broken index. When Joomla retrieves the path to a menu item, the database returns too many records. This happens to include the com_csvi_about entry. In addition to the broken index, Joomla doesn't filter on backend of frontend menus, so that is another reason the com_csvi_about shows up. This combination of issues resulted in the URLs containing the com_csvi_about string.

The solution isn't simple if you don't know how to manually fix the database. In this test site that was provided there were duplicate entries for the CSVI menu, so the Rebuild Menu from the Menus didn't work. To make it easy to fix, I will provide a Fix button the About page (the irony :)) that will do an integrity check and fix the menu where needed.

So far the update, at least the issue has been identified. Once the patch is ready I will post it here.
    Kind regards,

    RolandD

I came on to post because I am also having this exact same issue and have not been able to get it resolved. I even disabled CSVI and I still need to add the com_csvi_about to load without a 404. It is not happening with all menu items. Only some but none that repeat aliases (even in the trash) as was mentioned above. I am going to pm you joomla login and ftp access if that is ok with you.

Thanks for trying to recreate, like I said today I've started from scratch again, at least in like all my content and such are backed up etc ;) and no problems at all.

What I've done different installation of extensions order: VM, Custom Filters, Product Builder then configured the lot and added some test products to VM etc. (I thought this might be good to create all the database items in case they are not there yet or something) and at last CSVI Pro plus the VM extension and CF extension.
No worries at all this time.

I got the error last time when I applied the CF filter (manufacturer) to my VM shop, so filter went to the filter results page (let's say menu alias filterresults) which all of a sudden had the URL: http://mywebsite.com/com-csvi-about/filterresults/shop/category/product...
Clicking on a category through the standard VM Categories module brought me back to http://mywebsite.com/shop/...

Hope one day we'll figure out what's happening and it seems not too many people have had this issue, at least there's a workaround if it happens... INSTALLATION ORDER, at least that's what it seems like to me.

    cheers

    Hello all,

I have tried to recreate this issue but I never get the com-csvi-about in my SEF URL. If anybody has a system where I can check this happening please email or private message me Joomla and FTP login details and I will take a look. Please also tell me where I can find this faulty URL.

It seems to be pretty random when it happens and apparently for some it also just disappears again.
    Kind regards,

    RolandD

srry I've deleted the site already that was faulty :(
the order I installed extensions in was (all newest version as of yesterday 13/04/2016:
    - Virtuemart
    - CustomFilters Pro
    - Product Builder Pro
    - CSVI Pro

    - Then I started adding articels, menu's and everything
    - Followed by adding CSVI import templates
    - Then I started setting up the CF Filter & Search Module
    - Then I started setting up Virtuemart and importing my products, categories and images

And finally while testing the CF Filter on manufacturers I found the weird URL as described in the previous post.
Hope this helps but like you said it seems pretty random... I hope my different order solves the problem, I'm confident it will :)
    cheers

    Hello,

It sure is a weird thing. It seems that people get this URL issue in different circumstances. Apparently the order does seem to matter but I am not sure why. What is weird as well is that the About page is only used by CSVI in the backend and not the frontend.

I am testing as well to see if I can reproduce it. If someone has a test site that I can access Joomla and FTP, I can take a look there as well.
    Kind regards,

    RolandD

G'day, I just also had this issue, it only occured when I applied the Breakdesigns custom filter to my VM Shop.
    The URL changed to http://mywebsite.com/com-csvi-about/shop/results/...
shop is my shop and results is the sef alias for the CF Results page. The rest of my urls were fine.
Then I tried uninstalling CSVI as some mentioned but that also deleted all my Menu items and partially the Virtuemart module...
I then tried re-installing VM but got a warning "vmerror: could not find virtuemart submenues, please install virtuemart again".
This all happened while doing a fresh install of a website.

Maybe I installed the modules in a wrong order? I will now do a fresh install again and after configuring and testing everything else I will install CSVI to import my products / categories / images.

Weird thing... Don't know exactly where it comes from...

    Hello,

The only thing I can think of is that some kind of caching is happening where the URLs were generated with CSVI and only after that loaded by VirtueMart. Now that the com-csvi-about is gone and you re-install CSVI, the URLs should still be fine I think.
    Kind regards,

    RolandD

    J 3.5.1 SCVI 6.5.6 sh404SEF 4.7.3.3292.

I have same "com-csvi-about" in Virtuemart urls. http://itryazan.ru/ort/com-csvi-about/catalog
    Even I fully disable CSVI.

When I try to deinstall CSVI tables from maintance and also CSVI files from "Extensions - Manage" it`s delete all menu items and sh404 component. But after that "com-csvi-about" is gone.

    Hello,

This is for sure one of the weirdest things I have seen :silly:

Now I had a look at your site but I don't see any URLs with com-csvi-about in them. The above links, have you removed them?

The only thing that I can think of is there is a menu item with such an alias, either a published/unpublished/trashed item.
    Kind regards,

    RolandD
