Resolved Virtuemart Slug, CSVI field copy

Hi,

I am getting "Duplicate entry for key 'slug'"

I understand that the slug is based on the first 64 characters of product_name

I have many duplicates.

I want to use https://csvimproved.com/support/import/1094-field-copy-plugin to copy product_sku to slug.

I have followed the instructions as closely as I can, but I have no slugs shown on "preview", and i still get Duplicate entry for key 'slug' on "import".

Any ideas?

Hello,
Since you have set a field copy rule to use intnotes as slug, you can set Recreate alias to No on Options tab in your template settings. Recreate alias will use the product name to generate slug for a product, that could be cause for duplicate error.

Hi there,

I have done that now. The problem is still present at the import stage, although I can see its fixed at the preview stage. I have uploaded screenshots of the good preview, the error at import, the various settings pages, and the csv file that causes it.

Hello,
You have set the source field to be intnotes field so you need to set your rule SKU-to-slug on intnotes and not on slug field. Correct this and run the import again.

I already set Recreate alias to Yes in Options tab in the import template, but it still says "Duplicate entry".

Hello,
Can you post the screenshot of your field copy rule and how you have set the rule in your template fields? If you are not specific about product name as slug and want CSVI to create slug, you can set Recreate alias to Yes in Options tab in your import template settings. Click on Advanced button on top right if you don't see this option. CSVI will generate slug and would take care of the duplicates too.
