Hi, I find you have some components regarding users as is in component RO csvi itself option to import users,

My question is can I export users automatically with password from one J3 site and Import them to J4 site so they can login?

Or use any other your component to tho this job?

I have particular problem since we offer variety of service shop, taxi booking ecetra.. we have all on Joomla 3 site.

We will migrate on Joomla 4, 90% is done already but one of our component for Taxi booking will not work on J4 developers will not upgrade component.

So I decide to install J3 in sub folder of J4 with taxi booking component and append to main domain like so taxi.mysite.com .

All working great,
Joomla 3 installed in sub folder and component taxi booking when user orders taxi they get silent registration on website so they can check later their orders,

I would like to also import users from sub folder on Joomla 3 to main domain which is on J4, so they can login also on main site with same password as they have on Joomla 3.

Or ask them to login like google i read something about RO SINGLE SIGN ON maybe this will work.

Thank you

You don't need RO SSO here. You can just export users from Joomla 3 site to Joomla 4 site using RO CSVI Migration templates. Check Migrate Joomla data using RO CSVI migration templates document to know to use migration templates.

Hi, thank you for answer,

so if I understand correctly there will not be overlapping ID because no need to import ID for users when I import them in J4?

And this instruction is unclear for me "When importing user groups, use the field usergroup_name only if the usergroup has a unique name. "

If is this field usergroup_name and usergroup_path empty all users go to Registered group or we need to write - Registered- in usergroup_name there in field,

There is a possibility of having overlapping IDs if the user database is not same in Joomla3 and Joomla4 site. If you are sure user IDs are different then you can import IDs using migration templates.

And this instruction is unclear for me "When importing user groups, use the field usergroup_name only if the usergroup has a unique name. "

Usergroups are nested in Joomla. It is possible to have same child group name but under different parent group. Like example Manager/Registered and Administrator/Registered. In this case Registered usergroup name is same but under different parent group. In such cases we recommend to use usergroup_path field instead of usergroup_name.

If is this field usergroup_name and usergroup_path empty all users go to Registered group or we need to write - Registered- in usergroup_name there in field,

You need to write Registered in usergroup_name field. Without this field import will show message that Usergroup name was not found and no user will not be added or updated.
