hello, i have on my shop products that i have added from admin and some other products that we import from our vendor through xml
our vendor when a product is out of stock he doent have a field on his xml to let us know when is out of stock, what he does is to delete that product from xml
so the problem is us you understand is that if import template does not find that product on xml it leave it published...
on normal circumstances, we had to chose to unpublish before import so the problem will be resolved, on our case, when that option is enabled it unbuplish all of our products too, not only the one on the xml,,,
is there a solution on this issue?
thanks

Yes unpublish before import option will unpublish all the products in the database. To solve this issue with discontinued products, we have a document that explains on how to auto delete the discontinued product. You can create the templates as explained in the document and set it as a cron job too.
Kind regards,

Hello,
One other solution, may be an easy one is to ask the vendor for deleted product XML which you can use to delete products from database using RO CSVI. In VirtueMart Product import template you can use product_delete template field and set default value to Y to delete a product.

unfortunately neither of the 2 solution is possible
the 1 one can not be done because i dont know which products of 2500 items from my vendors xml is deleted or not, i have to look one by one
and 2 i have already ask him but the answer was "do as all the other eshops, unpublish if product_sku is not present on the xml file
so i m asking is there a custom way to do that?

We actually do have this option but the problem here is that your products which are added from VirtueMart admin are also set to unpublished.

You can try this solution.

1. Since you know the products you have added from VirtueMart admin, you can list out these product SKUs in a file with published field set Y.
2. Run import with your products file with Unpublish before import set to Yes. This will unpublish all products in database and import will set your products to published again.
3. You can then do the export of unpublished products. With the export file, do another import to delete the products which are deleted by the vendor with product_delete set to Y.

Hello,
I agree that looking at 20000 products is not an easy thing. RO CSVI process the records which are in import file, it does not really know if the product has been added manually or has been added from Vendors XML. You need to import the product SKUs so RO CSVI can delete them or unpublish them on import.

Another solution i could think of is to keep the old XMLs of vendors and compare it with the new XML. Find the difference in XML files, track the products which are deleted and use that product SKUs to delete them on RO CSVI import.
Kind regards,

Tharuna
