Hello,

The page you are looking at is the list of fields you have assigned to your template. This is currently empty, as in, no fields have been assigned yet. Click on the New button to add a new field to your template.

Now you see the page where you can input your data. First thing to do is to click the Help button in the top right corner. This will give you an explanation of each field. Now you can select the field the data should be imported in and you can enter the XML path according to the XML file you are importing.

Do you know the XML paths for your fields? If the answer is No, you can go to Analyser in CSVI and load your XML file, CSVI will tell you which paths there are in the XML file.

Let me know if this helps.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hello,
You can click on the new button on top corner to add a new template field for your template and there you can set XML path for a field. Have a look at Getting started tutorial to know on how to add template fields for a template.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

the link you sent me is the one that i had problems with that is different to what i am seeing ie there is no place to put the file extension or path as per attached image looks like the instructions are for an older version i am so confused please help

You should add Record name as Inventry instead of item as that is the node for each item in your XML file. Next step is that you add template fields from CSVI template fields page and set the XML path for the template field. Say for example you are adding value of Location node from your XML file then you need to add a CSVI template field by selecting Field name and in Your field you need to set XML path, in this case it is Location(name of the node). For adding a child node like say DepartmentNumber from your import file you need to set Your field as InvDepartment/DepartmentNumber. It is not a must that you need to set File extension as CSVI can automatically read the file extension from file. You just need to set the correct XML path for your template fields. Hope it is clear now.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hello,
You did not tell us which tutorials you followed. To know on how to map and import XML files, check import XML document. If you are still having issues post the import XML file along with the import template XML you created in CSVI to check. To get the template XML file go to CSVI maintenance menu, select CSVI Pro in first option and Backup templates in second option. Select the import template and click continue. Post the downloaded XML file.
Kind regards,

Tharuna
