Hi Guys,

I am having an issue importing Stockable Custom Fields (breakdesign).

I have manually added a product with custom fields, exported then deleted the products from VM and tried to re-import the file to no avail.

The child products are created, but not correctly attributed to the Parent Product. I have had a similar issue when manually adding child products. I have attempted to discuss this with BreakDesigns as it seems like a bug (the plugin has not been updated for some time) however, they are not willing to help.

When adding the custom fields manually, sometimes (not everytime) after saving the first variation and adding/populating the fields for another - it does not save correctly. The fields go back to default ie. the image chosen is no longer there, the SKU defaults back to the Parent SKU and the price and stock fields are no longer populated.

This seems to be the same when importing also.

Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have attached my import file and debug log.

Best Regards

Hello Donna,
You do not have custom_multiple field in your import file and custom_title, custom_value fields are not in the same way as CSVI expects for Stockable custom field import. Please take a look at Stockable Variants Import document and follow the example CSV given in there. Try your import after correcting your file and if you still have issues, post the latest debug log to check. Also tell us which version of Stockable Custom Fields you are using.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Thank you for your response, I had previously attempted with the custom_multiple field and then removed it during testing.

I have just replicated the csv from the tutorial from scratch and used the exact fields from the example and it seems to have added the custom fields, but the value isn't being populated and the parent sku is added as the child sku in the custom field. Something just doesn't seem right.

CSVI Import Stockable Custom Fields - 7.10.0
Stockable Customfields - 1.5.0

I have attached my import file, debug log and also a screenshot of how the custom fields were added. I'm scratching my head now as I just can't seem to figure out what is wrong. It is probably something simple.

Thank you in advance

Donna

Hello Donna,
Your import file looks good. Do you also have your Size and Color custom fields setup as explained in Stockable custom fields document? Can you post the screenshot of how you have these custom fields setup in VirtueMart custom fields page?
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hi Tharuna,

Apologies for the delay.

I have attached screenshots (unfortunately I am out of the office so these are from my mobile but still show the settings)

Thank you in advance

Hello Donna,
Thank you for posting the screenshots. In your Size and Color Plugins custom field setting there is missing value for default field. Can you put stockablecustomfields in Default value field, save the custom field and then run the import again? See if it solves your issue.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hi Tharuna,

Thank you - this seems to have resolved the import issue however the issue I mentioned in my previous post still seems to be happening:

When adding the custom fields manually, sometimes (not everytime) after saving the first variation and adding/populating the fields for another - it does not save correctly. The fields go back to default ie. the image chosen is no longer there, the SKU defaults back to the Parent SKU and the price and stock fields are no longer populated.

On viewing the parent product and checking the custom fields everything is as it should be, however If i save the parent (i.e. after adding images) the above issue is still happening. As mentioned, I have tried to speak to the developer of the plugin but they are not interested unless I pay for support but I am sure this is not an issue with my site and moreover a compatibility issue with the plugin. Please note, in the example in the screenshots NOTHING has been changed I merely clicked in to the Parent product then clicked save.

Please see attached screenshots for reference.

Any Ideas/suggestions?

Regards

Hello Donna,
Glad to know that your import issue has been solved. Sorry to say, we cannot help you with the issue of saving the fields manually because CSVI is not responsible for the issue. You may need to talk to developers of Break designs plugin or VirtueMart.
Kind regards,

Tharuna
