When I manually add a product and let Virtuemart create the thumbnail image link, it appends the thumbnail image size to the base image name ("_0x90" the way the file is named in the resize folder but when I let CSVI create the thumbnail, it does not append the extra text.
Also, if I add the VM created file name and import it with CSVI with create thumbnail set to either yes or no, it strips off the extra text.
The images are already on the server and the thumbnails are already created.
- If the link in the field doesn't match the actual file name in resized, how can it display the thumbnail?
- How can I import the file name so it does match?
- If the thumbnail field is left blank, shouldn't VM create it anyway? When I delete the field contents and Save, VM creates it like the csv file
- When I don't import anything for this field, it ends up with the same value as the fullsize image.
Import file looks like:
product_sku,file_url_thumb
lgs061,images/stories/product/resized/lgs061_0x90.jpg
lgs06101,images/stories/product/resized/lgs06101_0x90.jpg
what displays after import is
images/stories/product/resized/lgs061.jpg
How can I set up my import file to correctly add in the thumbnail image link?
Joomla 3.7.0, VirtueMart 3.2.1, CSVI Pro 7.1.0
Thanks,
Lindee

Hello Lindee,
You need to do media import instead of product import to update your wrong thumbnail images. The required field for this import is file_url, if file_url value is found the corresponding file_url_thumb and other media fields related are updated in VirtueMart media table.
However, if I import an entirely new set, the thumbnail field is set to the file value. How can I update the field on records that have the wrong thumbnail url?

Sorry, meant to do that.
Here's one I just did. There are 2 versions, one with Automatic thumbnail creation set to yes, second with no. In neither case is the field updated with the value in the import file.

Hello Lindee,
CSVI imports as per user import file, whats in the import file is what goes into the database. If you need the extra text added to your file name, you can add that to your file_url_thumb field and import.
I would need your debug log to check on this. As much as i know CSVI doesn't process anything on file name unless user sets it to do so on images tab.
It wont display the thumbnail, you will see image not found error.
Please post debug log to check what went wrong.
As per the screenshot, you have set thumbnail creation to No. Please set it to yes and run the import.
To answer all your questions more clearly i would need your import debug log. The information posted now is very limited to help.
