There is a different template configuration to CSVI to virtuemart, if I have a multilingual site? How i can import and update a translation via CSVI for virtuemart?

Hi, Im using the most recent CSVI with a Joomla 3 and virtuemart 3, I used CSVI to update all my content to 3 new languages, for my categories, articles, menus, modules, and some components, but, for Virtuemart i dont have any Idea, if I need a diferente template to import or to create.

For my regular Joomla content categories, I just use Joomla Batch, to copy all my categories, exported all with CSVI and edit the name, description and language, after that import that file to update my copied categories via the new ID created in the Joomla Batch, and thats was very functional. I do the same, to modules, menus, articles, and some component.

But to virtuemart, I dont have any idea, of where the language is seted and the association.

Do you have any template define for this to import? Or know is there is a proper way to import my categories and products with diferents language?

Thanks in advance for the support.

Hi, that information was very useful but, Im having a lots of problems to relate the Translation language to an
Independent menu, with an association to the primary language.

There is a way to set the information and the translation via CSVI?

Thanks for the support

Hello,

Are you doing a Joomla menu import? Which fields are you trying to import? Can you post us your import file and debug log to check? Check How to collect debug information? document to get the import debug log.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Thats my Issue, I dont know how the menus will work on this.

suppose I have 3 categories and 2 products per category

Cat 1 -> id 1
- P1 -> id 4
- P2 -> id 5
Cat 2 -> id 2
- P3 -> id 6
- P4 -> id 7
Cat 3 -> id 3
- P5 -> id 8
- P6 -> id 9

And for each category and product I have a menu on english language as primary

VMMenu
Cat 1 -> id 15
- P1 -> id 11
- P2 -> id 12
Cat 2 -> id 25
- P3 -> id 13
- P4 -> id 14
Cat 3 -> id 35
- P5 -> id 16
- P6 -> id 17

So if im goin to implement the multilenguage content, importing this via CSVI I import like this

cat_path/cat_path_trans
cat 1/cot 1
cat 2/cot 2
cat 3/cot 3

And the same for the products

So my cat with ID 1 is selected on my meny Cat 1 with ID 15

What I need to do, to have a new menu, related to the translation language with ID 115?

There is a way to do this via CSVi?

Thanks in advance

Hello,
CSVI cannot create a new menu item for a translation language automatically. You can run a Joomla menu import and have your menu items created even for translation language. Use language field in your import file to set a specific language for menu item.

Hi, I understand,

My question is, if you know if I need to have a different menu to each product, by each language.

In my previos example, for the category 1, y have a menu, so, if I translate, I need a new menu in a different language to the same category?

Another question, to import products I can relate the products by product ID, or only va SKU?, the SKU it must be the same in all language?

Yes you need to create a new menu item for each language. You can then use Joomla menu association to link menu of other languages.

You can use both Product ID or Product SKU. Multiple related products separated by |. It is not language based so if you import it for your Primary language it will be used for other languages too.

If you know something about this or if there is a way to import this data with the CSVI with a different configuration. I would be glad to know it.

Mi issue is that i dont know, how to prepare my Dutch file to import and include this field,

https://rolandd.com/documentation/ro-csvi/virtuemart/setting-up-a-virtuemart-multi-language-shop

In the actual documentation is only for "product_sku";"product_name";"product_s_desc";"category_path";"manufacturer_name"

But in the database I can see the custom fields on the products_de_de table.

You know how do I have to prepare my import file to include this custom field?

Thanks

Hello,
But in the database I can see the custom fields on the products_de_de table.

Custom fields are not in products_de_de table but they are stored in #__virtuemart_customs table and each product custom field values are stored in #__virtuemart_product_customfields. Custom fields are not language based in VirtueMart. Are you sure you are looking at right tables?

You know how do I have to prepare my import file to include this custom field?

In the export template where you exported the above attached file, on Options tab set your Language to German and do the export. You will get the product details from products_de_de tables of VirtueMart along with Applications custom field. Now in your import template settings on Options tab set your language to German and import the export file. This will import your product details into German language table and also add Applications custom field to products. Hope it is clear now.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hello,
There is nothing wrong i could see from your export debug log. What if you export only few records? In your export template on File tab set From record field to 1 and To record field to 100 or 50 and run the export. Check if export finishes.

If you still see the error, try creating a new export template with few fields and see if it works.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hello,
The error seems to be because of folder permissions. Do you have your tmp folder permissions set to 755?
Kind regards,
