any idea why I'm getting "the given URL cannot be found." when importing from this google sheets URL?

Hello,
We do not support import from Google sheets as of now. It is in our to do list and can be expected in our future release.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hello,
I had a look at the URL again and since the URL is able to download the CSV file, CSVI should be able to process this file. If you are not on CSVI 7.4.1 version, try the following steps in your import.

1. The first issue with the URL is HTML characters, keeping '&' in the URL says the URL has been permanently moved and so CSVI is not able to read the URL correct. You need to change & to html entity in your URL and save it in Load from URL field. So your URL now be

2. On file tab, set Use file for extension to be CSV so you are forcing the extension to be CSV.
3. On the same file tab set Use file for configuration to No. This way you are telling CSVI to read template fields as CSVI cannot recognise the field names in your file.
4. Add template fields to your template and run the import.

Let me know if it works.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Google sheets have always worked for me before. It was just a case of setting the file to type CSV.

Has something changed in the latest release? I have sites that were working fine now not working.

Do I need to roll back the version I'm using? This is crucial to my clients business as they need to update prices daily. They were all setup on cron jobs and now are not working!

Yes, there was some checks added to URL in the latest version.

No need to roll back. Please apply the patch file and see if your import still works in 7.4.1 version. Let me know.

Hi,

I can confirm your patch works with the following and thank goodness as my entire business is based on Google Sheets and importing csv files!

Joomla 3.8.3
CSVI Pro 7.4.1
VM 3.2.12

Will the next version work with Google Sheets or will it require a patch?
