Hello,

Attached I have several images of steps I have made to import a file with stockable products.
The problem is in VM products (image attached) It does not combine the childproducts with the parent.

I have tried several options, and the csv-file seems to import correctly but no parent product.
Hope you can help (again :-)

kind regards,
Hennie

Hello,
The problem is with your import file, you have 151-0404032-5400 for parent_product_sku field for parent product. This should be empty since it itself is a parent product. Do the change and run the import.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hello Tharuna,

The import is run again and I have attached the logfile.

I have some questions according importing:
- do I need the parent product present before the import? -> After several import-settings atemps with no luck I made a parent article before importing the child products. I assigned customfields to the parent and set the parent product to be ordered.

After the parent product in place I did run a new import trough csvi : The child products are combined with the parent now. But no customfields in place.

Hope that makes sence ?? :-)

Is it not possible then to import a products-list, containing parent-product and child- products in once?
I have a file with 5 product-sku , same artikel but different sizes. I assign one article ( example size S) as parent and the other sizes as child products.
That is correct??

No, you don't need to create parent product before the import. If the values in your import file are set correct, CSVI will create the parent product. Did you make the changes to your import file as i said in my previous post? The debug log attached shows that you still have product_parent_sku value for parent product. Can you run the modified import file attached with this post? Check if the parent product has been created on import.

Yes thats correct, for child products you should set product_parent_sku field with SKU of the parent product. In your case SKU of example size S to the child products. Hope it is clear.

Hello,
Since you want parent product also to be on sale, you need to define ramifications for parent product which in your case it is Size S so i think it would be better if you use Multi variants import instead of Stockable custom fields plugin. Let me know if that solves your problem.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hello Tharuna,

could you explain this a bit more?
>>
Order of import

Import should be done twice for multi variants, First import will store the custom fields and the second import will import the custom fields. The order of import is:

Import the parent products
Import the child products or both the parents and the children

Instead of making 2 separate files with one for the parents and one for the children, you can use 1 file with both the parent and the children in there. This will generate a message saying there are unsupported fields, this is expected because the available fields have not yet been updated. This can be safely ignored, and on the second import, all will be fine.<<
What do you mean by First import?

And the Size and Color are regular Custom fields? ( string/text and the sizes divide in xs;s;m;l etc?)

kind regards,
Hennie

Hello Hennie,
What do you mean by First import?

That piece of document explains that you need to import file twice so with First import CSVI will create the custom fields if not already created by you and with second import the values of custom fields are imported and linked to products.

And the Size and Color are regular Custom fields? ( string/text and the sizes divide in xs;s;m;l etc?)

Yes they are regular custom fields.

However in the shop the products are still visible in all sizes....

As i explained in my other post reply you need to set category_path to parent product and leave it empty for child products. This way child products uses parent product on frontend and gets grouped to parent product. Try and let me know.
Kind regards,

Tharuna
