Good morning,

I have a problem importing fields for child products, I'll explain better

If I create a product manually and associate a product as a child, no problem, but if I amount to one or more parent products with CSVI

child, or child product the drop-down menu for the choice is duplicated as visible in the images and on the administration tab of the

child product is visible a double field.

I have done more tests with or without assignment parameters but the result does not change.
I have disabled the jquery chosen by virtuemart that could be the cause of all this but in reality does not change anything.

In addition to the illustrative images, I enclose the import .csv file with two products.

Hello,
From your import file, i can see that you are importing custom field Colore for Generic child variant custom type. You have sent the import file but there are no column headers to actually know what fields these values belong to. Something i noticed in your import file is that custom_title Colore field with ~ at the end and custom_value product_name with ~ at the end. Since you have only one field you don't need the ~, you can remove and run the import again. Check if the duplicate is gone. If you still have issue, please post your import debug log along with import file with column headers to check. To know on how to get the debug log check How to collect debug information? document.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

I did as you advised me but the result is identical.

Hello,
Thank you for sending the import file and log as requested. The duplicates you are seeing on the child products is because the parent product generic type custom field is also derived on the child product. If you want to disable the derived custom field, you need to add a new field custom_disabler and set its value to Y to all child products in your import file and run the import.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

I'm sorry but it completely disables the possibility of making another choice from the child product.
I am attaching the import file I used.

Hello,
I can see the issue you are saying on product details page on front end. Since a child product is derived from a parent product it will have all of its parent's characteristics. So when you are importing custom field for both parent as well as child, you are seeing the first dropdown of parent and the second one of the child product. To avoid this you can import custom fields only for a parent product and leave them empty for a child product. Attached is the modified import file i used to run the import here. Try import with this modified file and let me know on how it goes.
