I have created a Custom Tables export template to export content from an unsupported component.
I want to combine two fields from that component into one field to be imported into another component. So I created a Field Combine export rule that specifies those two fields and applied it to the first of the two fields, as shown in the doc https://rolandd.com/documentation/ro-csvi/combining-multiple-fields-into-one-in-csvi-export
The plugin combines the fields just fine but the template outputs both fields to the CSV anyhow. Which of course then is too many fields for my import template. Same sort of thing happens if I try to make an import template do the combining of two fields from my CSV, only worse.
So the question is: Is there a way to tell that output template "do not actually output that 2nd field to the CSV" and have it just output the combined field, or maybe tell an import template "there's this field in the CSV but just ignore it".
Thank you.

Hello,
Both ways are possible. In RO CSVI template fields page for the export template you can set the second field to unpublished. That way the value is used for combine rule but the field will not be included in export.
For import you can set the field to Skip template field in template fields page. That way the field is skipped on import.

Thank you. The Unpublished field for export worked. As long as I had the two combined fields as the last two defined in my template. Otherwise exported fields after them got out of order.

Hello,
Try to set Text enclosure in your export template to " on File tab. That should solve the issue.

I could not use " because there were so many " in the content in things like link addresses, etc. Had to use ^ before I could get clean imports.
Not really a big issue having to put those fields last, now that I know it. What would happen if I ever wanted to do multiple combines will be a bridge to cross when I get there.

Hello,
Should not be an issue now that you know the basics of how RO CSVI field combine works
