Hello

When I import a VM product I have a field in the import virtuemart_vendor_id.
The only way that I know to get the correct id is by going into the database.

1) Can I use vendor name? What would the import field name be?
2) If not, is their an easier way to determine the vendors virtuemart_vendor_id?

Hello Shimon,

Are you using the multi-vendor feature of VirtueMart? If not, you can leave that field out as it has no meaning.
Kind regards,

I do use multi-vendor.

My shipping module calculates shipping based on the products vendor's address.

Now I look up the value in the back end of the database and use it.
I don't know of another way to find it.

In that case you are doing it the correct way. There is currently no way to upload the vendor name and CSVI retrieves the corresponding vendor ID. This is actually because the multi-vendor feature has been unstable for quite a long time.

Certainly this is something we can add to the next release. Once the vendor_name has been added, we will post a patch so you can see if it works for you.
Kind regards,

RolandD
