Hi

I created a custom product export template with the following fields added...

1 published
2 product_sku
3 product_in_stock
4 product_name
5 product_price
6 category_path
7 product_desc
8 product_s_desc
9 picture_url
10 picture_url_thumb

I used this template to export the product data from my website, wipe the document clean of the data and added the new product data ready for import.
When I try to import this I get the following error...

File source is not set for the template. Please edit the template and set the source from Source tab

Hello,
The error says that you did not set the source of the import file in your template. Edit your import template and on Source tab set the path from where RO CSVI can read the import file, save the template and run the import.

If you still have problem with template, post the template XML file to check. To get your template XML file, in RO CSVI maintenance menu select RO CSVI on first option, backup templates on second option, select your import template and download the XML file. Post the XML file.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hi,

The import source is already set at [Computer]. When I select my .csv file and click preview I get the following..

This preview shows how RO CSVI reads your file, not how the file is imported. The fields you see here are not validated yet, that will happen once you start the import. In case your file contains unsupported fields, RO CSVI will skip them during import as it will not know how to handle them.

Import file contains 6 lines

No supported fields have been found in the import file

Hello,
No supported fields have been found in the import file

This message means that RO CSVI is not able to find any supported fields in your import file. Can you post template XML file as requested in my previous reply? Also post the export file which you are using for import to check.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hello,
Thank you for posting the requested files. In your import template settings on File tab set Use file for configuration to No, save the template and run the import. This setting will tell RO CSVI to use template fields as headers and not the column headers of the file.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Thank you. I've changed it and attempted a new import.

I ran the import template and it displayed the column headers and nothing below (see attached). I then clicked next and it displayed [Processed : 1] ?

Hello,
Ok, your CSV file product-import.csv is a BOM (UTF-8Y) file. The Byte Order Mark(BOM) has invisible 3-characters at the beginning of the file to say the file contains some special characters. You either need to save the file again as UTF-8 or set the option Auto-detect delimiters to No. Easier option would be to set Auto detect Delimiters to No on File tab in your import template settings. See screenshot attached. Save the template and run your import again and check.
