Hello:
I began to work with CSVI and I have problems with the export / import of products between two shops Virtuemart. The products contain products children and images. For the export I have created a template with many fields (name, reference, weight, price, description ....). In the template import I have put the same fields, but when I do the import, it only imports the numerical fields. For the images I have put all in the folder images/stories/virtuemart/product/example.jpg of the shop of destination but it has not imported anything either.
I read your tutorials but I have some doubts:
It's necessary to have the same fields in both templates (export/import)?
I don't know if it is possible export/import separately simple products or children products or I can do it al at the same time.
I put in both templates the two fiiels yoy say they are necessays to export/import images and all files .jpg in destination virtuemart but it don't import anything.
Any help would be very appreciated, thanks

Hello,
Can you tell us from and to which VirtueMart version you are migrating?

It's necessary to have the same fields in both templates (export/import)?

It depends, if your export file has column headers same as database field names then in it is not needed that you need to have fields added in your import template. In your import template settings on File tab, set Use file for configuration to Yes and CSVI will use you file column headers for import. You need to provide us the information asked in the section Looking for a useful answer? on top of the page to check.

I don't know if it is possible export/import separately simple products or children products or I can do it al at the same time.

You can do all at the same.

I put in both templates the two fiiels yoy say they are necessays to export/import images and all files .jpg in destination virtuemart but it don't import anything.

You need to provide us the debug log to check on the image. To know on how to get the debug log check Where to get the debug information? section on top of this page.

Please provide the requested information for both export and import so we can help you.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hello:
First Shop: Jooma 3.6.5 and Virtuemart 3.0.16
Destination Shop: Jooma 3.6.5 and Virtuemart 3.0.18

As I said to you before, only numeric fields are ok after importation. There are no SKU, Description of products, images, children products......
Please, help me to solve this, I'm sure I'm doing something wrong
thanks.

Hello,

First thing that strikes me as odd is your formatting of the CSV file. The file is full with >< symbols. I guess you came up with your own symbols for text enclosure and field delimiter instead of the default comma and double quote.

The fields that are empty are fields that depend on the language where it is stored in. So get these fields exported you need to select the correct language in the Options tab of your export language. The table where VirtueMart stores the language data can be different than you think. So if the current language doesn't work, choose another language.

Finally, I see quite a few products without an SKU, these products are not supported for import by CSVI. CSVI requires the SKU field as a unique field to identify products for imports.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Yes, I've changed the simbols, I'll try to use , and " and to change the language.

That means that I must write a SKU to all product without this field empty in my original shop?
Thanks

Hello,

Correct, the SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) is the unique code that identifies a product, without it CSVI doesn't know how to identify the product.

Your logs look fine to me.
Kind regards,
