Resolved Problem with importing customfieldsforall / CSVs in general

Hello all. I am having trouble uploading custom fields (i use customfieldsforall) with their appropriate values.

I have tried following the format:

custom_title custom_value plugin_name custom_element field_type
Series 1234 Custom Fields for All customfieldsforall E

But nothing seems to be imported.

I was able to create all the custom fields by a homemade script but not sure how to import values for them.


I have 29 CSV files with different fieldsets (about 40 different custom field columns each) and I have been struggling with this for the longest time. I have attached an example file, if it helps.

Please advise

Hello,

First I want to ask, did you read the Custom Fields For All for Virtuemart document?

Your example CSV file that you tried doesn't match the format that is required as explained in the document. The fields you created must also match the settings as explained in the document. The defualt of the custom field must be set to customfieldsforall. The field_type is not needed at all.

First, create your sample CSV file according to the documentation and give it a try. If it doesn't work, post the CSV you tried to import together with the debug log and we can take a look at it.
