Hi

(I have the latest csvimprove 7.1 just bought it and joomla 3.6 and VM 3)

I made an export template for virtuemart products
I put many template fileds:
virtuemart_product_id;product_parent_id;product_sku;product_name;category_name;category_id;product_price;product_override_price;product_discount_id;product_currency;published;product_special;product_in_stock;product_availability;manufacturer_name;product_tax_id

and exported the products in a file
Everything went well so far!

Then I made a new import template with the same excactly fields
I tried to import one product (to see how it works)
but it does not work!!
I confuses some fields and some fields do not put anywhere
Why is that?
How I am going to make it work?

I other words, I want to export some fields (as many as possible) , make some changes or add new product and then import all back again

Please help!!

Hello,

You sent the question as well via email which I responded. My answer was:

Read the tutorials:

https://csvimproved.com/support/import/203-virtuemart
https://csvimproved.com/support/export/204-virtuemart

The documentation will explain how to run the imports and exports.

I other words, I want to export some fields (as many as possible)
What you are doing is, just adding everything without thinking why the fields are there. That logic doesn't work. You need to know why the fields are there. What you are doing is like driving a car without a license. Have a look at the tutorials and just add the fields you know why they are there.

The use of ID fields is highly discouraged because they are maintained by the database and not by you. Start with a simple export and import and add more fields as you need them.
Kind regards,

RolandD
