Hi Roland

I have a problem formatting fields on import ( please have a look at screenshot here attached )

Let's say I have 3 fields in csv file I want to import in virtuemart product description field ( field1, field2 and field3 in csv file )

Problem 1 : field2 has sometime a space caracter at the beginning, csvi import is suppressing them
Problem 2 : I don't see any way to add html at the beginning or at the end of the fields. I tried with multireplace rule using operation "Add before value"/"Add after value" and it's not working.

Now : how can get those fields formated please ?

Here are 2 examples following the screen shot example...

"DETECTEUR VOLUMETRIQUE PIR + CAMERA" + " GRADE 2" + "Noir" ( please note in this case " GRADE 2" has a space before )
should not be :
DETECTEUR VOLUMETRIQUE PIR + CAMERAGRADE 2Noir ( actual result )
but :
<p>DETECTEUR VOLUMETRIQUE PIR + CAMERA GRADE 2<br>Noir</p>

AND

"DETECTEUR VOLUMETRIQUE DOUBLE TECHN" + "O GRADE 2" + "Blanc"
should not be :
DETECTEUR VOLUMETRIQUE DOUBLE TECHNO GRADE 2Blanc ( actual result )
but :
<p>DETECTEUR VOLUMETRIQUE DOUBLE TECHNO GRADE 2<br>Blanc</p>

Thank you for your help !
Best Regards

Eric

Hello Eric,
How are you using these three fields for product description? Are you combining the fields field1, field2 and field3 using RO CSVI combine rule and then importing it to product description? If yes, can you post a screenshot of your combine rule?
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hello Eric,
In the Combine character field give an empty space and save the rule. Check product description field after that.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hi Tharuna,

I had to set-up "Combine empty value" to Yes too

Now I get a space between the 3 fields.

example : DETECTEUR VOLUMETRIQUE PIR + CAMERA GRADE 2 Noir

... better, but this is not resolving :

Problem 1 : I still get TECHN O instead of TECHNO = not taking in account the space in the csv field
Problem 2 : How can I inject html command for example <br> = return between field2 and field3

Thank you in advance !

Hello Eric,
Problem 1 : I still get TECHN O instead of TECHNO = not taking in account the space in the csv field

This is not clear to me, TECHN is the value of one field and O is from next field? Or they are values from same field?

Problem 2 : How can I inject html command for example <br> = return between field2 and field3

1. Please load the attached patch file.
2. Create a Multi replace rule for Add after value and enter <br> in value field. Save the rule. See attached screenshot.
3. Apply the rule on field2 in template fields.
4. Run import and check.

Hello,
Problem 1 : I still get TECHN O instead of TECHNO = not taking in account the space in the csv field

Can you post me a screenshot of your template fields and how you have set the rules on the fields? Also post sample of your import file to check along with your import template XML file. To get your template XML file, in RO CSVI maintenance menu select RO CSVI in first option, backup templates on second option, select your template and download the XML file. Post the XML file to check.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hi Tharuna

Problem 1 : I tested the Patch and it seems to work well.

Just one important remark : The rules don't apply to combined fields. Is there a way to resolve this ?

I am asking this because I need to format a lot of fields from CSV file ( +- 30 ) into the Virtuemart description field... without some formating, it is just awfull ;-)

Problem 2 : Regarding the space before some datas in field2 and before going in complicated exchanges my question is : did you tested it on your side ? I mean : if you put a space in field2 does CSVI take it in account ?

Thank you for all your efforts !

Best Regards
Eric

Yes i did test this and can see the space removed in field values. I have fixed it with attached patch file. Load the patch file and check your import again.
