Hi,

I'm importing an xml to VM and some of the image links have non English characters (ex. https://sourcesite.com/ΑΒΓΔΕΖ.jpg). Those products that have such image links are imported in VM without an image. The image link from the source xml (as above) works fine when viewed in a browser.

I'm attaching the debug log where such a product was imported.

Any idea on how I may overcome this?

Thanks!

Hello,

The debug log you posted only shows 20 products that were not imported, this will be because your template has set to not overwrite existing data. Can you post a debug log where a product is imported?
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hi Roland,

Let me explain in more detail how I'm using the import templates.

There are two templates for each xml I import. The first one only imports new products with all their details (name, description, prices, images, etc). This one is set not to overwrite existing products since the customer uses their own categorisation so once the xml is imported, in a dedicated - unpublished category, they manually assign each product to the category they wish. The second one only updates prices and availability. The second one is set not to import new items and overwrite existing so that their prices and availability are up-to-date.

That's why you see products not imported.

I deleted the product in question from vm and ran the import (not the update) template again. The product was imported with all its data but with no image. I'm attaching the new log, a screenshot of the completion where it shows that one product was actually imported and a screenshot of the product in VM.

The image url that comes in via the xml is here: https://kouppas.gr/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/%CE%9A%CE%9F%CE%9C%CE%9F%CE%94%CE%99%CE%9D%CE%9F-%CE%9C%CE%9F%CE%9D%CE%9F%CE%A3%CE%A5%CE%A1%CE%A4%CE%91%CE%A1%CE%9F-%CE%9C%CE%9F%CE%A1%CE%A6%CE%95%CE%91%CE%A3-1.jpg

Thanks!

Hello,
Thank you for the explanation. The log details you posted still has no entries on image processing. It shows processing of 20 records which are skipped. Unless we see what is going on with image on import, it is difficult for us to check the issue.

Two ways to get the debug log

1. Run import with one product with the image URL so debug log has only one entry. That will help to check the image issue.
2. On RO CSVI Config page set Number of lines in log file field to the number of products imported. That way debug log has entries of all products imported and so entries on image processing.

Run import and send me the latest debug log to check.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hello,
Thank you for posting debug log.

Debug log says image does not exists in the location when the image actually exist. So i tried a simple import with your image link with below example content in two of our test sites and there is no problem in importing image. See attached screenshots of debug logs which shows image was imported fine. Do you have problem with all the images in that import file? If so you may need to check if you have access to the server from where you are downloading images from. If not please send me the import file along with template XML to check. To get the template XML file, in RO CSVI maintenance menu select RO CSVI on first option, backup templates on second option, select the import template and download the XML file. Post the XML file.
