Resolved problem importing big files

Joomla! Version Joomla! 3.3.6 Stable [ Ember ] 01-October-2014 02:00 GMT
VirtueMart 3.0.4

I am experiencing problems in importing a 9000 lines file with just two columns ( product_sku - product_s_desc ). If I perform a partial import will work and above all, it works on csvi 1.9.2 on another site with Joomla 1.5 !

Any advice? It seems that the php memory it is big enough. Maybe permissions or ??

same with me. If I import test with 10 products everything is fine, when import 5700 blank white page.

I have split the file i 4 files with 2000 records and it works...

Hello,

Have a look at the Manage timeouts article. It should give you enough information to setup your import.

As for comparing a Joomla 1.5 site with VirtueMart 1 to a Joomla 3 site with VirtueMart 3 it is almost apples and eggs :) The differences are simply too big. Do know that CSVI 6 has major improvements in terms of speed. So that is dealt with this kind of issue a lot already but with so many products, the timeout is always an issue so the settings must be tweaked.

@kelecz: those options only work on a VPS or dedicated server where you are allowed to change the server limits. Hosts put server limits on shared hosting accounts for a reason ;) As such you are not allowed to just change them. The same options exist for Joomla 3 but they are not Joomla related though.

@delicati: Please start another thread for that because it is unrelated to this topic. Post all the requested information so I can help you.

In that case, it is not a problem of it being a big file but the problem is having no alias.
