Hello, do you offer one-on-one paid support?

We cannot get a cron job to work. We have tried everything we know, have read and followed your instructions, spent an hour on the phone with our sever hosting company and just can't get it to work. The cron will run manually no problem, but for some reason it will not run as scheduled in cPanel.

If paid support is available, please let me know how to begin the process.

Thank you,

Jose

Hello Jose,

There is paid support but before we go there perhaps you can first explain what the actual issue is. Since the cron runs fine manually, I am doubting there is an issue with your CSVI setup.

Do you mean that cPanel never kicks off the cron job? If it does kick off the cron job, what actually happens?
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hi Roland, good morning.

Thanks for your reply. We were able to get the cron job to work. After trying a ton of things, I think we narrowed it down to one of these that fixed the issue--or so we think:

- Enable front/end cron was set to NO. We changed it to YES
- We had not added a cron email address in the cron job settings on the server
- We changed the server's Jailed /usr/bin mounted suid from OFF to ON

I got a server message overnight that Jailed /usr/bin mounted suid set to ON is a security issue so I turned that back to OFF. The cron is set to run again at 1:00pm EST. I'm going to wait and see if it still runs.

We never thought the issue was CSVI. We were sure it was a configuration problem. We just didn't know what we were doing wrong. We are incredibly impressed with your extension. It works great!

This is what the cron jobs, which are working, look like now (I changed domain and key to sample abc):

php /home/abcxyz/public_html/administrator/components/com_csvi/helper/cron.php --key="abc123" --template_id="1"

Please let me know if we should keep front/end cron enabled. Or if the issue was mostly-likely just the email address.

Best regards,

Jose

Hello Jose,
Glad to know you figured out the issues.

This is what the cron jobs, which are working, look like now (I changed domain and key to sample abc):
php /home/abcxyz/public_html/administrator/components/com_csvi/helper/cron.php --key="abc123" --template_id="1"

Thats the correct cron command.

Please let me know if we should keep front/end cron enabled. Or if the issue was mostly-likely just the email address.

Yes, you also need to have Enable front/end cron set to Yes in your template to run it as cron.
Kind regards,

Tharuna
