When I upload the attached file, lgs062.csv, instead of getting an override price of $0 and "disabled", I end up with the override price the same as the price and "overwrite final."

Interestingly, if I manually change the override fields and rerun the same import with the same file, those fields are not overwritten. You can see that in the export file I've attached. I've also attached the log files.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong here.

I've also noticed on other imports that some fields don't get updated. Is there some setting I need to enable to update/overwrite fields?

Thanks for your help!

Hello Lindee,
The patch file attached in my last post is outdated and so you cannot run it with latest CSVI version. Can you load the attached patch file and check if override gets updated?

I'm back again with the same issue. I'm not sure if I should make a new question or just add on here. I've moved my site so I think I can access the database now but I imagine it's quite huge - I have over 3600 products. I'm not all familiar with php my admin.

Here's the problem again: If I update the product information to put something on sale using the override, then I can't reset the override back to disabled (0) whether the product_override_price is 0, blank, or greater than 0 and override is set to 0.

I can set the override to 1 with a csv file but I can't set it back to 0.

Should I try re-running the patch you sent last year?

Thanks! Sorry I'm so dense about this.

Hello Lindee,
When I tried to apply the patch, I got an error message (Patch error.png). I may not have used the right procedure to install. I used the Extensions > Manage > Install and added the zip file.

You need to update the patch file from CSVI maintenance menu, have a look at load a patch file document to know on it. The document was also linked in my previous post.

Then I updated CSVI to 7.2.3, the extensions, and updated the fields - several times. I still get an error: "The list of available fields is out-of-date for extension com_rsform. Update the list to ensure you have all fields available."

After updating the available fields, go to System -> Clear Cache and select filter for Administrator. Can you delete all cache files for com_csvi? Do you still see the notice about the update of available fields after that?

Should I apply the patch to this latest version? Do I just do it like a regular update?

Apply the patch file as explained in the above linked document and run the import again. If you still have issues post the latest debug log.

I just discovered an error in my import file. The field "product_discount_id" was being exported as "product_discount" so the wrong field was being updated. So I was making us both crazy by a mislabeled field name in the export file.

Glad to know that you figured out the issue.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Sorry for the delay. The lead developer was against me making any changes but since he's not doing his job, I just now went ahead.

When I tried to apply the patch, I got an error message (Patch error.png). I may not have used the right procedure to install. I used the Extensions > Manage > Install and added the zip file.

Uploading the import file is still not working for the prices. (Prices.png.)

Should I apply the patch to this latest version? Do I just do it like a regular update?

Thanks for all your help so far.

Hello Lindee,
Can you try to load the attached patch file and try to run your price override import again? See if your issue is solved.

Hello Lindee,
I'd send you a dump if I had any idea how to do that. I'll have to see if the developer will do that for me.

You dont need developer to do this. You can follow the below instructions to get mysql dump file.
1. Open phpMyAdmin.
2.Select your database by clicking the database name in the list on the left of the screen.
3. Click on export tab
4. Click on Custom - display all possible options radio button or any equivalent you see on your screen, it should display all the tables selected in a frame.
5. Select only VirtueMart tables in the frame.
6. Click Go at the bottom. You should be getting a dialog box showing you to save a sql file. Please download and send the file.

I'm just trying to figure out how to upload new products and not end up with the prices set to 0. It seems no matter what I try, I still have to go in, open each product and change some setting.

Not sure what you mean by some settings for a product because you should be able to update all product details using CSVI product import. But I should be able to help you with override once i have your data and run the override import here.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Yes, I'm trying to replace the values. At this point, I've manually opened the products and changed them. It's just that it takes about 3 minutes to open and save after a 2 second change.

I'd send you a dump if I had any idea how to do that. I'll have to see if the developer will do that for me.

Hello Lindee,
As per your debug log i see that override is updated with 1 even though the value of this field in your import file is 0. Do you have override and product_price_override already saved in database and you are trying to update it? Can you send me mysql dump of your VirtueMart tables to my email id at tharuna@csvimproved.com? I will run the import here with your tables and see whats going wrong.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

So, having a value of 0 in the product_override_price field overrides the value in override? That would mean I couldn't upload a file that have some products that do have an override value other than 0 mixed with those that don't, right?

When I removed the override field and reran the import, it didn't change the fields. "Overwrite final" is still checked, and the value was not set to 0. It's not changing anything.

I've attached 2 debug logs one is the same file as before with the product_override_price field removed and a second one streamlined with other fields removed.

I looked at the debug logs but I'm not really sure what I'm looking for. I did see that it's setting the fields for measurements and weight to metric where my shop settings are for inches and pounds. Why is that? Shouldn't it default to the shop settings if no values are supplied?

Hello Lindee,
When I upload the attached file, lgs062.csv, instead of getting an override price of $0 and "disabled", I end up with the override price the same as the price and "overwrite final."

As per your debug log override is not disabled but has been updated with overwrite final value and that is because if CSVI finds the product_override_price field in import file and it automatically sets the override to 1 which is overwrite final. You need to remove product_override_price field in your import file and run the import to update the override.

Interestingly, if I manually change the override fields and rerun the same import with the same file, those fields are not overwritten. You can see that in the export file I've attached. I've also attached the log files.

Should be because of the reason i explained above.

I've also noticed on other imports that some fields don't get updated. Is there some setting I need to enable to update/overwrite fields?[/quote
Can you explain which fields don't get updated and on which imports? Please post debug log and import file to check.
Kind regards,

Tharuna
