extra fields are not being imported - I have to do it manually

The extra fields are not yet supported on the Item import. There is a patch available to add this feature. The instructions can be found here and the updated patch here. The new release coming out this weekend will include this patch.

Did you already install a patch file? Line 451 is not available in the file on the 5.11 release. Try the patch I linked here and give it a go. If it doesn't go, post your debug log for me to check.

I think the patch is not installed correctly or you have the wrong file because there is no foreach on line 451 in the patch I linked in my previous post.

The file itemimport.php in the folder administrator/components/com_csvi/models/com_k2/import should have 483 lines. Line 451 says:

if (!empty($value))

Check if you have the correct file.

Importing k2 extra fields does not work - I have tried almost everything.
it's one error after another - I have spent approx 4 hours trying to get it to work

I finally removed all of the extra fields and I was able to upload with no problems

Have looked into this and there were a number of issues to fix

1. The Autodetect delimiters was on but the import file was not consistent in it's use, so this is turned off
2. The fields were not in sequential order
3. The link fields were not in the expected format

After those changes the file could be imported.

Still getting an error on my site with the imported k2 content


Fatal error: Call to undefined method K2ViewItemlist::buildAliasBasedExtraFields() in /home/ilovef/public_html/components/com_k2/models/item.php on line 1517

Do you have a link where I can see this error? This looks more like a K2 error than a CSVI error because K2 is calling one of it's own functions but can't find it.
