Resolved No supported fields have been found in the import

Hello

(I noticed I misplaced this article, and I also added a log file)

I just installed CSVI pro and I'm going crazy trying to use it
I'm using Joomla 3.4.3 and CSVI 6.1.2 and I'm trying to import joomla content (articles)
I used the tutorial in the support section.
I created the template. Added the required fields, like in the demo. I also added the field 'catid'
I think the template is fine. I followed the instructions.
I've tried saving it from mac numbers and from google docs.
But no matter what I do, when I try to import my test file I get this message:
"No supported fields have been found in the import file"

I am really frustrated right now. I know it has to be some simple error, but I can't find it.

My test csv looks like this:
“title”,”alias”,”catid”,”category_path”,”state”,”introtext”
“Tiendas”,”tiendas”,”2”,”uncategorised”,”1”,”TEST”

(I've tried also replacing the commas for semi-colon)

And my template fields look like this:

I would really appreciate any help.

Also, I'm a little dissapointed. This is a relatively expensive extension, and yet, the tutorials are for an old version, so you can get very confused trying to follow the instructions.

Let me help you then.

Not sure what happened with your log file but it is empty.
"No supported fields have been found in the import file"
Since I can't check the log file, I am not going to be very sure but let's look at your test CSV file:
“title”,”alias”,”catid”,”category_path”,”state”,”introtext”

“Tiendas”,”tiendas”,”2”,”uncategorised”,”1”,”TEST”
You are using 2 different kinds of text enclosures. Your file has forward leaning double quotes and backward leaning double quotes. It should actually look like this 
"title","alias","catid","category_path","state","introtext"

"Tiendas","tiendas","2","uncategorised","1","TEST"

You can try with this CSV if it works for you.

You can set the Use column headers as configuration to Yes in your template if it isn't set to that yet.

the tutorials are for an old version, so you can get very confused trying to follow the instructions.
There are a lot of older tutorials indeed but the way CSVI works hasn't changed. The tutorials are in process of being updated but a good place to start is the Getting started page.

Thanks for the quick reply. With your help, I finally got it working.

I tried with the csv you recommended, but still, I got the same error.

Then I changed the settings as you recommended. I stopped using the auto detect features when I started having problems. But now I tried again and it worked perfectly.

I think now I understand how to use it for most of the things I need to do.

I know this question is another topic, but, can I use this extension to add content to custom components I write?

Actually you can, that is one of the big changes in CSVI 6. It treats components as addons, as such you can write your own import/export routines. I have a draft document ready on how to do this and will email it to you.
