I paid, downloaded and installed your product this morning but I cannot find any documentation other than few slide presentations (mostly for VirtueMart products) and a FAQ. I have also tried YouTube but again the only videos are for VirtueMart.

Is there a proper manual and are there any videos covering more basic stuff like importing and exporting of categories?

Secondly, do customers have to pay more money if they want support? I was going to raise a ticket but was shocked to find I was being asked for more money after just spending 70 euros.

Hello,

There are no Youtube videos, at least not made by CSVI. Managing Joomla categories is explained in this tutorial.

The use of templates is also explained in this tutorial

Feel free to ask me if you have any further questions.

Secondly, do customers have to pay more money if they want support?
No they don't. As you can see you were able to post here on the forum. The forum is closed for the general public, if they want to post, they would need to buy a support ticket.

I was going to raise a ticket but was shocked to find I was being asked for more money after just spending 70 euros.
Sorry to hear that but I think it is a misunderstanding as explained above.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Thanks for replying. I was bit confused but glad you have clarified the support situation.

I have been testing your extension by first manually creating around 70 categories in Joomla, exporting them to CSV, deleting the categories in Joomla then trying to import the categories. They all import but hierachical structure is all messed up. By this I mean it does not seem to reading the category paths correctly.

I opened the file in OpenOffice then saved it as Unicode UTF-8 file as described in the LibreOffice tutorial.

I have discovered the problem.

When CSVI exports, it creates the CSV in alphabetical order but on the title or alias field when it should be using the category_path. This would not be a problem if all the categories were at one level but will cause problems if (like me) you have hierachical category structure.

Hello,

The order of the categories shouldn't be of any influence as the category_path is used to determine if a category already exists or not, including it's depth.

if (like me) you have hierachical category structure.
I think you are not the only one, probably very few use a flat structure ;)

I would like to see the information requested at the top of this page under Looking for a useful answer so I can check what happened on your import.

Do you mean you have a flat structure?
Kind regards,
