Hi, I am running Joomla v. 3.1.5 and I just acquired v. 5.11 of CSVI. I am running K2 v. 2.6.7.

Forgive me if this is a silly question, but I am new to this wonderful component :)

Anyway…

I have a pretty basic CSV file to import and so far it looks pretty straightforward. However, I have a couple of Extra Fields to import, namely Part Number and Price. Do I include the path, same principle as Category (e.g. extra_field/part_number and extra_field/price?

…or am I on the wrong track?

Please advice me of the correct method.

Many thanks in advance.

Roland,

Thanks so much for the patch! I was able to load it successfully per your instructions.

However, my CSV file still won't import my extra fields.

After hitting "Process", the log tells me that two of my fields are unsupported -- and indeed they are my extra fields -- Part Number and Price. Both are simple text fields.

In the header of my CSV file, I represent Price as simply "price" and I tried both "part_number" and "partnumber" for Part Number.

So I have the feeling there is something simple and silly that I am neglecting.

Enlighten me??

Always grateful for your help!

Hello,

The patch is ready and attached and can be loaded.

After the patch is loaded, go to Available Fields and click on Update. Now CSVI will know which extra fields are available for import.

In your import file you can use the Extra fields just like you would any other field. Currently the following field types are supported
  • Date
  • Multiple Select
  • Radio
  • Link
  • Textfield
  • Labels
For the multiple select, multiple values need to be separated by a pipe-symbol, |. The same goes if you want to import a link, the text, url and window are separated by pipe symbol.

Let me know how it goes.

Hi,

Sorry for not being more clear

The extra K2 fields already exist in the K2 setup of my Joomla site.

What I would like to do now is import content from a CSV file into these fields…

Hope this makes sense.

Thanks again!

Hello,

Let's clear something up :)

Are you importing the extra fields as part of the item import or are you adding the Extra fields to your system?

The item import is currently not able to add the extra fields on import, I am working on a patch for that.
Kind regards,

RolandD
