Im getting some odd results when I try to import menus.

Amongst other entries, I've got a fairly simple two-level menu:

Browse
- By Designer
- By Product

In my import file, I've got the following information for these three entries:
Alias Path
----- ----
browse browse
by-designer browse/by-designer
by-product browse/by-product

But it generates 3 separate submenus which look like this:
browse

browse
- by designer

browse
- by product

also the aliases are duplicated, despite these expecting to be unique. What am I doing wrong?

I can forward a copy of the import file and the latest log by email.

Cheers,
Ian

Hello Ian,
Yes we would like to check your import file and debug log. The sample import content you have posted wont work as the required fields for Joomla menu import are type, path and menutype.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hello Ian,
Had a look at your import file and debug log. I found the cause for why you are having duplicates with your menus. For the browse menu item you have the type to be heading and for children by-designer and by-product the type is component. CSVI uses type and path to check for existing menu and since these do not match for browse, a new parent menu is created. You need to change the type of browse menu item to component and that will fix your issue.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

I've reset it to be a regular VM link, but for clarification, how would I import a menu heading instead?

Hello Ian,
As of now we do not support different menu type for parent and child menu items. We will look into this and see if we can get to a solution.
Kind regards,

Tharuna
