Hello, I am wondering what version of J2store was tested with CSV Pro latest version?

I am rebuilding a site that uses J2store with Joomla 3.7.5 but I am still running J2store 3.2.22. I wanted to try out a few imports/exports in content and in J2store before updating it. This is on a developer site not a live site.

I just did a test import to update 80 products image path and it was pretty messed up. It created new articles instead of update existing and only main image path was added leaving thumb and add'l images blank. It also wiped all the J2store data on the existing products and reset them to no product at all. It seems it did opposite of all the settings, because it was not to create new and overwrite existing was set to yes. The sku field was used, and the import file was created from an export file identical just changed the image path is all.

I also use the J2store Advanced import and simple import tools but with the rebuild of site there is many changes so I thought CSV Pro would simplify my work :)

The version you are using is good as CSVI has been developed with J2Store 3.2.x version.

If you can give us more information on your import by providing import debug log and sample import file we should be able to find out the issue. Without these details its difficult for us to say why your images got messed up. To know on how to get the debug log, check Collect debug log information document.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Thank you very much for the offer to look into it, I like to learn by trial and error and ask for help as last resort, really I just wanted to ensure that it worked with that version of J2store for sure so thank you for answering that. I am sure I will be back for some help in the future, he he.

It was my own misunderstanding the settings and the fact that I used J2store 'Product' operation instead of 'Product Image' when I did that first test that messed it up. It was easy enough to just restore the database in phpmyadmin after that first messup and I make sure to download a fresh copy before every import. I successfully changed close to 9000 products image paths yesterday so that is worked out. Now I will tackle adding intro and full images to Joomla content so they can be used for other purposes like social sharing.

Your tool has come a very long way and is a pleasure to work with, I first used it many, many years ago and then again 2-3 yrs ago but not since. I am grateful it has become easier to work with and that you have developed it for it makes many tasks so much easier and such a time saver.

One more thing, I wanted to let you know there are a few dead links to J2store pages on your site that come up in a search they just have nothing about J2store on them, looks like all in category id 282 are affected. Also, the page about image import at https://csvimproved.com/support/import/280-j2store/3506-j2store-product-image-import says requirements include 'Form2Content'. I'm assuming that is incorrect as I do not have that extension and it still worked for me.

Glad to know that you figured it out.

We are happy to hear the feedback. Would also appreciate if you can give us a review on Joomla Extension Directory.

Yes, Form2Content has come in there by mistake. We will look into it and correct them where ever needed. Thank you so much for letting us know.
