Subject: Issue with Hashed Passwords Changing During User Import in RO CSVI

Message:

Dear RO CSVI Support Team,

I hope you're well.

I am currently facing an issue during the user import process using RO CSVI. Specifically, I am migrating users from a Joomla site (version [3.9.15]) to a new Joomla installation (version [5.2.5]).

While importing the user data, I’ve noticed that the password hash values are being altered automatically during the import process. As a result, the users are unable to log in with their original credentials on the new site.

Could you please assist in identifying why the hashed passwords are being modified during the import? Ideally, I would like the existing password hashes to remain intact so that users do not need to reset their passwords after migration.

Additionally, I have manually verified the hashed passwords in the databases of both sites. I can confirm that the hashed password is being changed during the import process, even though all other user data—such as username, user ID, name, etc.—remains exactly the same.

Is there a specific configuration or field mapping required in RO CSVI to preserve the original password hash during user import?

I will sharing the Users import template with you, I have also shared some screenshots related to the hashed password.

Looking forward to your guidance on resolving this issue.

Best regards,

Hello,
Since you are importing hashed password use password_crypt field instead of password in import template. That way hashed passwords are directly updated to database and not hashed again on import.
Kind regards,

Tharuna
